Why sell one full game when you can sell half of it for full-price and the rest in smaller individual packages

Micro transactions are basically there to get money from impatient people or idiots who don't feel like playing the game to unlock things and want it now now now.

It isn't "You can't get this unless you buy it", A.K.A. DLC.

It's "You can literally just play the game and unlock this like a regular person, or you can throw money at your screen to open it up immediately".

Yeah exactly ...this will be one of maybe 2-3 game I play this year after its release and it took me like 6 months to get to 300 on the tower in MK9...it felt great and I love the krypt and getting rewarded for hard work ...so if it is such a thing it will probably never affect me...
At the same time I don't want the game shit on for something like that because of a word pretty much and that's why I don't like the idea of it being called micro transactions ...
A color pack is almost normal for fighters and it was never called that even though thats what it is, it was dlc and while that brought it some heat it is nowhere near as bad as micro transactions...

Like I've been saying give us the option to micro transact a tournament package. For $5 you get the evo pack, 20% goes to the pot for evo to support the tournament scene in return you get a supporter badge, in game viewing ticket and custom skin similar to the one like corsair. NRS HIRE ME I'll do it for you guys, this is the best way the dev can support us and make money for themselves. Win/win

Well, if that worked for Valve, maybe that can work for FGs. You probably won't be getting millions to add to prize pool, but it can still work...

I've just seen so many of these models where it's like that for most cases, but not all.

Like if this is the new Krypt, you can open most koffins the traditional way... but then there are going to be some sprinkled throughout that you have zero in-game option (however strenuous) to open it. All you can do is charge $3 to your credit card (probably spelled Kredit Kard) or just do without.

That I wouldn't like.

Valve raised more than $10 million for their last Dota tournament using this method didn't they?
NRS doesn't need to raise anywhere near that amount. Hell just raise $10K, and divide them as $1K pot bonuses on 10 different tournaments. That would be EXTREMELY good!

It will most likely work the same way as it does in Killer Instinct. All content will be available through gameplay, but also available through micro transactions, as well.

Shit, I wish Injustice had that so I didn't have to go through that fucking awful STAR missions or whatever they were called. I never even got the Elseworld Flash because I couldn't bring myself to play that mode ever again after I beat it once. I'd have happily dropped a couple bucks to just have some of the harder skins unlocked for me.

Also, everyone can just stfu about not buying the game if NRS/WB decide to add micro-transactions. Like me, you'll all be there at midnight on 4.14.15 to buy MKX, no matter what. Don't lie to yourself.
