I thought Kung Lao was absolutely gangsta and hilarious with the dialogue. That deadpan delivery and change of tune reminded me of Rick James on Chappelle's Show when he was like:

“Come on, what am I gonna do? Just all of a sudden jump up and grind my feet on somebody's couch like it's something to do? Come on. I got a little more sense then that."


"...Yeah, I remember grinding my feet on Eddie's couch.”

IMO the best joke in that entire bit and the one that's not quoted enough.

As for the Fatality, i bet he does NOT crush the head at the end. I believe that he will shoot his tongue through the back of the head, and tear it off to devour it.

Good speculation. I too was wondering what the finish is. We can tell from the video for a brief moment before the camera turns away, Reptile seems to place his fingers in Kungs' eyes. And then from the view of Kungs' backside, you see his head trembling and the sound of something being torn or broken.

Never been a fan of Reptile, but I want him in the roster as always... Too bad there wasn't any light on his variations and tools.
The design is sick, much more swag than his MK9 counterpart.. Bet his alt will be humanoid. It seems everyone prefers a ninjalike design.
He Seems improved in every aspect. Once again, great work NRS. You nailed it

NRS is never going back to the human Reptile.

Starting with MK4, the MK team has been shifting the ninjas to much different designs than just "ninja" to better represent who they are. Outside of Scorpion, none of the MK ninjas are actually ninjas.

IMO, it's much better than just bam, lizard disguised as a human.

Ninjas in this game are: Smoke, Sub and Scorpion(and arguably Noob for being a revenant of a ninja), people apparently want Reptile to be a green Sub/Scorpion, when his lore and concept has nothing to do with ninjas and clans.

Rest of it is...odd. Part of the lack of hype is not seeing the different variations shown off, and Kung/Reptile look...ok. The background is gorgeous, and i'm happy that at the very least it's a fun playstyle being added.

I like the mask alot. Not sure about the tooth costume though. Seems like they are getting away from the ninja thing and this is him embracing his animal side.

One thing that stood out to me from this trailer was that you could see the MK9 core in the fighting. Which makes me happy, I was hoping they'd keep a legacy curve and not scrap everything.

I liked his fatal, can't wait to see it uncensored.
