I'm in San Francisco. I'm hoping to get something started here in the city. I have a few friends who are interested in MK and the general NRS scene.

And yeah, Sacramento is too far for BLTB, lol!

You guys should find people to carpool with to BLT... It's worth it! At least try it once, especially since gas is so cheap now lol ;) we would love to have you guys

I'm down to take BART to the city. If you can find a venue I'll spread the word to any and everyone I know.

I'd love to go but with school and work I just have no time to go up there. If you guys did a special tourney on a weekend I'd be there (depending if someone can take me)

As much as I'd love to make it out to BLT in Sacramento it just isn't a possibilty for me. I wanna see who else here is in the Bay, I'm willing to go wherever BART takes me to get a scene going out here. Who else is down for MKX?
@Odoyle @smile @cR WoundCowboy
I'm in the East Bay. The last stop on Bart (for now, eventually it's going to be super close) is about 15-20 minutes away from my house. I'm down to work something out for MKX for sure man.

Hell yeah let's figure something out. I'm down to stream our locals.

We'll be getting a lot of training sessions in Antioch/Oakley, and possibly Pinole. We'll be sure to keep you posted when these things go down.
Whenever you have sessions in Pinole let me know! I have family out there so it's easiest for me to go there.

Hey guys!

So I went to Folsom Street Foundry in San Francisco to check out the venue. For those that don't know about Folsom Street Foundry its a venue that hosts game tournaments Tuesday's and Thursday's of all kinds, board games and video games. The place is rather huge. It seemed like there must have been a hundred people there, maybe a little more. The place has giant screens on the walls displaying games like Street Fighter, Smash Brothers and random other games like Golden Eye (Nintendo 64), pc games, etc. There is a bar there (yes, you must be 21 and over to get in) the place is a dream come true for gamers. Also, streaming is done by Showdown eSports, a group related somehow to Folsom Street Foundry. And it's in San Francisco. Yay!

I'm friends with a number of the Street Fighter players in NorCal and they are very interested in MKX. In fact, a few are interested in playing MK9 again. They're people outside our scene who love MK! Especially top NorCal players like LPN and Hoodaman to name a few who would love to play MK.

I then talked to CJ, one of the managers of Folsom Street Foundry. He said they would love to have MKX there when it is released. The length of time that MK stays there will be determined by how many people in the community continue to show up to support it. He also had question for the community about setups and do you guys prefer pad or stick ( I'm a stick player myself).

So I have a few questions for TYM Bay Area. Would you guys want to just wait till MKX is released to start tournaments there, or start soon with MK9 to prep for MKX? Would you guys like injustice there as well? Any questions about the venue?

I hope this can become a real possibility for a home for Bay Area MK.

Sorry for the late post, but I wanted to let you guys know as I just got back from game night there. I'm also super tired from a long day of work and play, so I hope I didn't leave anything out, but feel free to ask any questions you may have.

I play Sub Zero in MK9 so I mostly get frustrated playing that game but I'm decent at Injustice. When MKX drops I'm going in though lol

I live in Pittsburg, I play MK9 on PC mostly. Looking forward to MKX for sure. We should set up a local tournament in the East Bay.

"You play weird" It's called being unorthodox ;)
It costs me like 19$ to bus it to there from LA haha....

...I'll be like a special guest and stuff
I've been wondering, shouldn't the Grayhound go all the way up there? If it does I'm down to plan something to head up there some day :)

EDIT: NVM I just checked it, it does, but it takes about 8-9 hours and it's hella expensive :/

This place sounds perfect minus one thing. 21 and over. This isn't gonna be a problem for me but for us to have a restricted scene isn't fair for everyone and to be honest we'll need everyone we can get. I'd be down for MK9 tournaments even though I have no idea how to play, lol. Injustice there would be hype. If anything we can start with Injustice/MK9 and transition into MKX when it's released. I'd like to explore more options before we 100% commit to this venue. Is there any way that they can allow admission for people under 21?

"decent?" Really nigga? Odoyle's fucking amazing at the game, don't mind his downplaying.

Pinole guy checking in. I go to BLTB when I can (my second family <3), but I usually don't have the time to carpool since BART closes at 12 and I don't have enough time or energy to drop people off, as much as I'd love to.

If I'm not busy with school, I'd love to go to events stretching from San Jose to Sacramento, like I did when Injustice first dropped. I had an easy schedule then which made it possible. I probably can't travel as much this semester unless tournaments are ran early in the day on weekends and if I'm not busy. Keep me posted! I'd also love to host during the summer if I can!

Just throwing my hat in here too.

Live just off 24th & Mission bart and me and a buddy were thinking to host some casuals when the game drops to jump start our game. Have 4 tvs and 2 ps4's already so we could host a bit. Anything bigger Folsom sounds like a blast. Still a few months out but when the demo drops it's going to be time to start in hard.

Either me or @Folux182 are down to host sometime/get this going. We can start a bit on Injustice/MK9 just to see how it plays out.

That's awesome! You're not too far from me. Just got a PS4 myself and I have an "Evo" monitor. I can also host sessions at my place as well. I stay in the Bayview. I definitely think Folsom is awesome place.

I don't think there is anyway to allow anybody under 21 to enter, although I'll follow up with an email to CJ at the venue to confirm if maybe people under 21 if accompanied with an adult can enter.

I can show some how to play MK9. That won't be a problem. Injustice tournaments would be super hype! ;)

If anyone else has any ideas for venues feel free to leave a message here.
