He had to defeat Shao Khan to prove he was worthy, since in canon he did not defeat Shao Khan, this can't be canon....I see no reason as to why Sektor's MK9 ending wouldn't be canon, as it has no conflicting story points with what happened in MK9's story.
I also really want to see the Tekunin again, they had potential.
Unlike the other endings his ending doesn't mention Shao Kahn or beating Shao Kahn at all, unlike every other ending. It is not uncommon in fighting game arcade modes for characters to have endings that don't directly tie to anything. He had to defeat Shao Khan to prove he was worthy, since in canon he did not defeat Shao Khan, this can't be canon....

I literally used 4 doges... 4. Wow. *facepalm*Unlike the other endings his ending doesn't mention Shao Kahn or beating Shao Kahn at all, unlike every other ending. It is not uncommon in fighting game arcade modes for characters to have endings that don't directly tie to anything.
I don't know what that means, but okay.I literally used 4 doges... 4. Wow. *facepalm*
Well. That changes the situation I suppose and clears it up. Sorry for bothering you sir with my trolly behaviour.I don't know what that means, but okay.
Scorpion becoming interesting for once? No, we can't have that.well fuck
i agree with thisI think the reason i'm not particularly fond of Taven/Daegon is because they were brought out of nowhere and we were given barely any time to get to know the characters. In MKA we play as Taven, the main protagonist of konquest and go around beating the fuck out of characters we had gotten to know and love and had been led to believe that they were pretty god damn strong, but oh no, no match for the all mighty Taven who we've never fucking heard of before. Apparently even strong enough to beat characters like Goro, The GOD of thunder, The GOD of wind, Kintaro, Scorpion, and of course Kabal. Who lbsh would obviously body Taven free.
I just don't understand how anyone can like this character. He has no redeeming qualities, he basically comes in and shits on the entire MK cast without breaking a sweat. He beat all of these fucking characters in rapid succession! The only time I can think where he was even in some sort of actual danger was in the beginning where Sektor captures him and uses some kind of torture machine on him. Seriously what in the fuck was up with that?
Daegon is a character who wasn't really memorable to me at all. Although he is basically the main villain of the konquest story, I didn't really see him as one because all you know is that he killed his parents after being manipulated by Shinnok and for creating the red dragon. They make him seem like he wants this "Godlike power" or whatever the grand fucking prize is but you know that if anyone is getting that shit it's sure as hell not gonna be him. IIRC Shinnok even expresses his doubts about him to his face after witnessing how stupidly powerful Taven was, and it makes Daegon look even more like an unneeded tool. While Daegon is remembered to me at least as a shitty character, I remember Shinnok being very sinister, manipulative, a total prick, even maybe going to the extent of saying he was intimidating. Even though he's been in a few games, we really have no fucking idea what this guy is capable of. Shinnok being the villain in this game is a no-fucking brainer. Boon has said that the boss will be a "returning" character that fans won't be expecting, and this could very well be someone like Daegon. I almost am expecting this to happen after so many scenes were used in MK9 purely for shock value. They seem to be building themselves up by telling a new and different story, but at the same time ignoring that they already have a good story base they could easily expand upon without all the plot twists. I don't give a shit about the surprise factor, put in a god damn good villain instead of trying to do something fresh and innovative or shocking. Shinnok has all of the qualifications to be a fantastic villain and I feel like they might choose to ignore that simply to try and drive the story in a different way. Anyways just my $.02
To be honest when it comes to 90% of the post MK4 cast, I love their potential more than the actual characters themselves, because those characters don't have much development.I think the reason i'm not particularly fond of Taven/Daegon is because they were brought out of nowhere and we were given barely any time to get to know the characters. I want to see this war happen, if by this means Hanzo is controling Scorpion, i think somehow he might think he killed Quan Chi, or he did killed himPretty clear Shinnok will definitely not be the main boss then. Although I'm sure he'll still be in and some of the story mode will be dedicated to the war.
I find interesting that some things are still happening even if the timeline is altered, in the OTL sub gets his scar by Kung Lao's Hat, and this Sub gets by Kano's.It's still very confusing, the identity of this Sub-Zero (these Sub-Zeros??). It's clear in that final scene that we saw Sub-zero's scar origin, making him Kuai Liang, that and he is working for Raiden?? However, they also mention him working with Quan Shi in the past, so, maybe Bi-Han? Or was that just the Red Dragon minion mistaking him for his brother? Geez, who knows??
I think Sektor would still kill his father and take control of the Link Kuei even without killing Shao Kahn, you can see trough his behavior in MK9 that Sektor desires leadership, in fact, on the original timeline, he killed his father and become the leader of the Lin Kuei clan, only to lose his leadership later on when Kuai Liang returns home and defeats him in a mortal kombat duel (1st of 5?) but he didn't died, he assembled rebels tekunins in MKA and becamed a pirate i think. He had to defeat Shao Khan to prove he was worthy, since in canon he did not defeat Shao Khan, this can't be canon....

Shinnok is the shit. Man...while the later games do lack that certain flair compared to the MK1 - 3, they all had/have incredible potential, and all the stories throughout were quality. MK Armageddon is the only one that to me missed the mark in a big way. That games story was to big for what they were trying to do, and really that is why I'm so happy and grateful for the new comic series.Reading some of you guys posts about MK lore made me realize I don't know jack shit about MK4 - MKA lol
3. Look at these pictures, that should help you with what time chapter 1 took place.3) Kuai Liang Saying not working for Quan anymore? That could mean we're past the era where heroes were dead / under Quan's command ( probably this is the "Netherrealm wars" ) Also, what about his scar?
4) Happy to see Hsu Hao getting some. I Hope more shitty characters disappear for ever like that
I agree with this. Re-imagined characters with new technology tend to be cooler than their original conceptions. I always thought that Kabal, for example, was really lame in MK3. I don't know, I hated his flappy sleeves and those goddamn white shoes... Fast-forward nine years to MKD and Kabal was made into a complete bad-ass, I thought. If anyone is being brought back, we can all rest assured for a fact that they'll look way cooler, and they'll be presented way cooler.
Rumors say Hsu Hao will be the main boss of MK 124. That's cute, you still think someone dying in MK means they are definitely gone forever
