Hello all. This will be a frank discussion on breathing new life into the Injustice Tournament scene. Last year's NEC was widely regarded as the tournament that saved Injustice from boring tournaments. This is true. Last year's NEC was one of the most hype tournaments we have had for Injustice and now that the 2nd NEC has just concluded it is time to talk about saving Injustice yet again.
After more than a year of play after the changes the meta of Injustice is now firmly in place. The tournament scene is now littered with Aqaumen, Martian Manhunters, Zods and Batgirls cutting a swath through their opponents. Those of you who watched this latest NEC know what I am talking about. We had poor Revolver having to play against Zod with his Lex. We watched Arma get counter picked 3 times in a row with POCKET Aquamen. We saw Batgirl's insane and unfair comeback factor with her vortexes and corner damage. And don't get the community started on how unfair Martian Manhunter is. We all feel it. We all know it.
A healthy fighting game tournament scene is very much like a healthy ecosystem. When there are too many predators not in check (MMH, AM, Zod, BG) the whole balance gets out of whack and soon there will be no more food (Batman in Aquaman's case, Lex in Zod's case etc. etc) for them to eat (people will stop going to tournaments and the predators will starve.) I don't want to get too scientifical on this subject but if we look to science we can come up with a solution to this problem that all of us as a community face.
The solution is called "BIODIVERSITY." The short version of biodiversity is basically a check and balance system. We need to introduce something new to our ecosystem that will be a check for these top tier predators, but will also not be a huge problem for the lower tier characters. A patch is out of the question because we all know NRS is full steam ahead on MKX. We need something quick and small. A super quick hotfix that will save us all. I believe I have found this solution.
What is one hotfix we can do to the game that will accomplish all of this? Who is the character that comes to mind that has an ok chance of defeating Aquaman, Manhunter, and Batgirl? Who is the character that if very slightly buffed will not even bother characters like poor Lex, and Batman and Flash and Bane and Superman and etc. etc? The smart and learned people will of course be saying Doomsday right now. What is something that NRS already has the data for where they can just revert back to how it was with the flip of a switch in the code? You are correct again if you said Body Splash.
In conclusion, bringing back Doomsday's old Body Splash will be a breath of fresh air for EVERY tournament traveler. No longer will Darth Arma have to worry about a pocket Aquaman in his pool, he will breath a sigh of relief when he sees there is a Doomsday in his pool to take care of business. No longer will we have to watch poor Lex just hold down for an entire 90 seconds while we have to boo Zod on the screen. Doomsday will have fixed that problem for poor Revolver. With the level of play super high now, even mid and low tier characters will be voting for this change. Our community has the skills and knowledge now to deal with body splash that we didn't have early on when this game came out with better spacing, armored back 3's improved d2's etc. etc. Thank you for your time in reading this.
