Ok guys, yesterday Mamehub was broken by the new update and worse yet, mamehub 3.0 is now outdated and won't connect to the mamehub server.
THE PROBLEMS
-Mamehub 3.0 is outdated and won't connect to the server
-Mamehub 3.1 has very bad input delay, and is unusable for fighting games even if you modify the base_delay.
-Mamehub 3.1 update uses a new version of the emulator which won't even launch a game.
THE IMPORTANT FILES
-in your mamehub/mamehubrepo/binaries/dist folder you will see:
csume.exe - This is the GOOD version of the emulator
ume.ini - This is your configuration file
-Create a folder (on your desktop, in the same folder your mamehub folder, I don't care) and name it
mamehub old files
-from your mamehub/mamehubrepo/binaries/dist folder copy your csume.exe and ume.ini
-Paste them into your mamehub old files folder
You have now backed up these files just in case you mess up during the update.
THE FIX
-In your mamehub folder, run mamehub.bat -This will UPDATE mamehub to 3.1
-After mamehub updates, login, let your roms audit, then exit mamehub
-Go to your mamehub/mamehubrepo/binaries/dist folder
-You may have 2 versions of csume.exe, csume.exe and csume64.exe. DELETE BOTH OF THEM. (if you only have one, delete it)
-Go to your mamehub old files and copy csume.exe, paste it in mamehub/mamehubrepo/binaries/dist folder
-Launch mamehub, login
-Go to audit, select folders and re-select your roms folder. The update seems to reset this.
-Audit roms as usual, start a game to test.
**If you click on select folders and nothing comes up:
-Go to mamehub/mamehubrepo/dist and right click on ume.ini and open with wordpad.
-Find your rompath and change it manually to your roms folder.
-Save the ini file and go back to mamehub, audit roms and play as usual
Mamehub should now work.
Be aware though, we have now custom modified mamehub and it will not work with anyone else unless they have performed the same modification. We are using a different version of the actual emulator, csume. If you're not sure why it won't work, then understand that it's the same reason that you can't use mame 119 and play with someone using mame32k .64. Different versions of the emulator won't with each other.
Once we all do this update, mamehub should go back to working JUST FINE.
Good luck guys!
PS, mamehub 3.1, which uses a new version of ume, recognizes the console games a bit differently. That said, some of the SNES games don't work at the moment, and NONE of the genesis games work right now. I'm working on that, and once I have an updated file, I'll post it here.
PS2, for whatever reason, if you have a problem updating mamehub 3.0 to 3.1 using the mamehub.bat file, you can go to http://www.mamehub.info/download and download the file. You will still need to make sure you have those old files and swap them out the way I had explained above.
