Mamehub Fix

Ok guys, yesterday Mamehub was broken by the new update and worse yet, mamehub 3.0 is now outdated and won't connect to the mamehub server.

THE PROBLEMS

-Mamehub 3.0 is outdated and won't connect to the server
-Mamehub 3.1 has very bad input delay, and is unusable for fighting games even if you modify the base_delay.

-Mamehub 3.1 update uses a new version of the emulator which won't even launch a game.

THE IMPORTANT FILES

-in your mamehub/mamehubrepo/binaries/dist folder you will see:
csume.exe - This is the GOOD version of the emulator
ume.ini - This is your configuration file

-Create a folder (on your desktop, in the same folder your mamehub folder, I don't care) and name it
mamehub old files

-from your mamehub/mamehubrepo/binaries/dist folder copy your csume.exe and ume.ini
-Paste them into your mamehub old files folder

You have now backed up these files just in case you mess up during the update.

THE FIX

-In your mamehub folder, run mamehub.bat -This will UPDATE mamehub to 3.1
-After mamehub updates, login, let your roms audit, then exit mamehub
-Go to your mamehub/mamehubrepo/binaries/dist folder
-You may have 2 versions of csume.exe, csume.exe and csume64.exe. DELETE BOTH OF THEM. (if you only have one, delete it)
-Go to your mamehub old files and copy csume.exe, paste it in mamehub/mamehubrepo/binaries/dist folder
-Launch mamehub, login
-Go to audit, select folders and re-select your roms folder. The update seems to reset this.
-Audit roms as usual, start a game to test.

**If you click on select folders and nothing comes up:
-Go to mamehub/mamehubrepo/dist and right click on ume.ini and open with wordpad.
-Find your rompath and change it manually to your roms folder.
-Save the ini file and go back to mamehub, audit roms and play as usual

Mamehub should now work.

Be aware though, we have now custom modified mamehub and it will not work with anyone else unless they have performed the same modification. We are using a different version of the actual emulator, csume. If you're not sure why it won't work, then understand that it's the same reason that you can't use mame 119 and play with someone using mame32k .64. Different versions of the emulator won't with each other.

Once we all do this update, mamehub should go back to working JUST FINE.

Good luck guys!

PS, mamehub 3.1, which uses a new version of ume, recognizes the console games a bit differently. That said, some of the SNES games don't work at the moment, and NONE of the genesis games work right now. I'm working on that, and once I have an updated file, I'll post it here.

PS2, for whatever reason, if you have a problem updating mamehub 3.0 to 3.1 using the mamehub.bat file, you can go to http://www.mamehub.info/download and download the file. You will still need to make sure you have those old files and swap them out the way I had explained above.

The fix works good. Me and @9.95 just played a few games to try it out. Follow the instructions and you should be good to go.

The online for this is AMAZING. It's hands down the best online for any MK game out there that I've ever experienced.

At most the lag is 1 or 2 frames if both players are wired and not downloading anything.

Played some matches with @R.E.O. and they felt damn near close to offline. Granted, Reo lives close to me, but the gameplay was simply phenomenal. We also, for fun, played some SNES UMK3, and strangely, some of the properties felt like a mix of MKT and UMK3TE. It was funny, but it was fun. Now that I'm spending less time helping people set up Mamehub I can actually spend more time playing like I did tonight.

Looking forward to playing more of you!

Does anyone know if the audit process is broken after the fix? My umk3 1.2 stopped showing up so I tried to get MAMEHub to find it again and switched it back to vanilla, but the audit process seemed to be broken and I can't get it to find 1.2 anymore. Luckily I zipped a copy of working 3.1 when I first got it going, so I can always revert to that, but just something weird I noticed this morning.

This has happened to me from time to time. Occasionally, you will need to close mamehub, swap to vanilla, then re-open mamehub.

By default the rompath in ume.ini should be set to ../roms if you want to use the default rom folder.

Yeah I would swap to vanilla but the audit would act like it wasn't running correctly. It had nothing to do with roms or file paths from what I could tell.

That's the problem. You need to make sure that vanilla is in your folder during audit, or else mamehub won't recognize that the game even exists.

lol you aren't understanding me. The audit was NOT detecting vanilla. The audit did not act like it was working properly is the issue.

lol the broken version I have is so messed up it won't even select a rom path. I just used my zipped copy and started over.
Yeah, it does that occasionally. You need to set the rom path manually in the ume.ini file. Easy to do, and it will bring back the ability to set the path.

Snes is very fast for mk3 and umk and imo shares the trilogy speed increase

Yeah I did it and it didn't work, trust me it was really messed up I dunno what happened. I zipped a working version though so I just reverted to that. No biggie.

So when does everyone usually get on to play? I'm gonna start playing TE more these days but I wanna make sure I know when people will be on, lol.

I'm stuck at this step. When I select the roms folder, it doesn't actually get added. I've quit and restarted with no change. If I go to select a folder again, no current folder appears. So when MAMEhub scans for files, it never finds anything.

is anyone else getting this behavior?
