BRUTALITY

This has been said often but is it really true? People tend to say this when talking about the drop in players between MK9 and IGAU when IGAU was released, and in reference to the predicted drop in IGAU numbers when MKX is released.
And while it is true numbers dropped from MK9 to IGAU, we must remember the circumstances surrounding it. MK9 was the first widely recognised tournament worthy title NRS had released in the better part of a decade. It was popular but it had a number if problems as a result of reentering the competitive market, in the form of glitches and bugs. Many also criticised the balance of the game with a severe lack of viable characters.
So by the time IGAU rolled around many were fed up with these issues and with the promise of having these issues addressed with this new title, many players jumped ship to IGAU, which of course was going to be a bug-free, superhero version of MK9 right?! swearing off MK9 for greener pastures.
well that was not the case and as many mk9 players were shocked to find the games were not at all similar. IGAU had a hard time finding its market but eventually stabilized its own audience. some mk9 players went back to mk, some stuck it out if IGAU, either way the mk player pool was was fragmented.
also, how many tournament worthy fighters have NRS released in the last decade? 2. so too bad if you dont like one if those games - you just cant play two games at once obviously.
further, how many top MK and IGAU players also play SF, KI or MvC? i can think a bunch from the top of my head.
so it is important to remember WHY it is said that we cant play two games at once
1. lack of opportunity (There is ONLY two games)
2. the problems associated with our games (IGAU and MK9 both had issues with bugs glitches and patches, balance)
3. we DO play more than one game, but we do not all play MK9 and IGAU, we are playing things like KI or SF.
