Simply, because they care and want a better online experience for their supporters. It can't be argued that there wasn't any improvement from mk9 online to injustice online. They are aware this is an issue but I think trying to scare their potential sales with a petition isn't a valid way to express your concern. Even then, how will you know if online is better without giving them your money first? You going to wait for other peoples' opinions? Most people will get the game on release night. I know my preorder copy is waiting on me. Good online or trash, im in either way
Well I'd buy the game, test the online connection, and if it sucks, I return the game and put my money in a company that cares about it's players.

If you care about the online so much, then it's the right thing to return the game if online is bad. Saying they don't care won't affect them, returning the game though, will say more than words :) So I agree with you. I support.

I clicked yes, that I would. But let me elaborate.

1, MK9 is my shit. Great game to have fun with, but terrible net code.

2, Injustice's net code is far worse. Especially on Ps4.

I've got 59mbps download/22 upload. It's not my net.

Now... Here's the kicker.

I still play both of the games listed above....... (WHEN I'M WITH a OFFLINE GUYS.) Never when I'm home.

But I play KI online every night. And why do you ask? Because the netcode is godlike. So.. Would I still play MKX if it's laggy as fuck. Like I'm expecting. Yeah.. I'll still play. Will it be my game of choice when home alone, hopping online for my matches? Not if they don't make it smooth. So I guess I shouldn't have really knocked YES or NO. But more so left it blank.

Some of you are so naive that it's disturbing.

They have already stated that the online environment and features are a huge selling point in MkX. They know well the netcode is the biggest complaint for Mk9 and Injustice. They're trying their damn best and constantly remind us how high a priority online is to them and how hard they're trying.

We ALL want better netcode, including them, but to say shit like:

Well I'd buy the game, test the online connection, and if it sucks, I return the game and put my money in a company that cares about it's players.
That's just plain brainless. If NRS haven't shown you they care with all the unnecessary crap they do like mkkollective.com and over-supporting the small NRS competitive scene, then you're just flat out selfish.

This isn't a game like Minecraft or Starcraft that runs at a low pixel rate so making a 60frame per second online is cake. Those games also are primarily PC. This also isn't Call of Duty where people are more inclined to just deal with lag skips and frame drops because the nature of the game.

Fighting games designed for consoles and run at 60fps and 1080p with high pixel rates are much much much harder to make lagless and perfect. KI has been able to do it somewhat but they're seriously the first.

If NRS cared, they would spend ONE day and release a small patch that would fix MK9!!

There were multiple petitions started asking for that very thing, lol but since they wouldn't be getting any money for it, why would they care?

You cared enough to visit and comment.

If you really cared, you wouldn't say anything. So why don't you just stay quiet? :)
No one cares of the situation you're proposing. It's childish to do so. NRS doesn't set goals to make an inferior product, who sits there and says "Hey I'm going to try to purposely make my game have shitty online", they try their best to optimize it, if it doesn't work, well, they try to fix it. And it's not that bad, it's playable, if you want a on the dot experience, play offline. I don't think this generations of console will ever get good net-play because too many variables exist, people have different internet speeds and distances.

BUT keep in mind Xbox One is running on SERVERS. That is the only silver lining.

You can go offline, or get better internet.

Suck it up.

Am I seriously going to have to explain this to you.....

It's all about how much time and money NRS are willing to spend. They obviously spent more time with the Injustice online because it's better than MK9, but it's also obvious they didn't spend enough time because it's still not on the level of other fighting games.

For people that don't have a local scene, online is everything. Maybe you should read some of the posts in this thread before you open your mouth and say "no one cares".

Mk9 was bad. Injustice was better. Mkx will be better then previous. I have faith. If you want to address real issues with nrs, I would rather we talk about other things lol.

This is the wrong place to have this kind of poll. This is one of the most concentrated MK fan sites on the internet; we're all going to buy MKX even if the game turns out to be a 3 hour video of Boon waggling his eyebrows in suggestive ways. Some of us would buy it twice. Everyone knows it's the casuals that make MK print money. You'd have to put this poll on IGN or Facebook or something.

Good luck though. Most gamers seem to have this weird anti-consumer defense mechanism when you criticize some shitty hyped up AAA game (see: Watch Dogs). Post-purchase rationalization is my bet.

What is going on guys, Ya Boi Zyphox here.

I'm not gonna boycott anything, but let's hope the third time's a charm.

The reason I dropped Injustice was because the online made it impossible for me to enjoy a match with friends. I'm pretty much buying a PS4 for MKX and T7, so I'm praying NRS pulls through and makes it worth my purchases.
