He was apparently talking on his phone while walking around.what the fuck was he doin anyway he was walking from aisle to aisle aimlessly , then stands in one place for ages all while holding a fake gun ??
dont understand
Happens in everything. Doesn't help that it's reinforced by the media. Rape was/is a situation notorious for it.I was wondering how many posts it would take before someone's immediate reaction would be to sort of blame the victim. It took about 3. Lovely.
im not blaming i just didnt see a phone , i live too far away to judge and nothing ive seen here deserves death but jesus put the fake gun down timmyI was wondering how many posts it would take before someone's immediate reaction would be to sort of blame the victim. It took about 3. Lovely.
As it absolutely should. I don't care what he woke up that morning thinking. A kid lost his life and a family is devastated. It is not like this guy is just gonna go about his life. This will most likely kill his career.
Rape is by far the worst when it comes to triggering victim blaming. The fact that it "happens in everything" makes it worse.Happens in everything. Doesn't help that it's reinforced by the media. Rape was/is a situation notorious for it.
The answer to that question is...Who the fuck cares? Why does it matter why a dude picked up a FAKE gun from a Walmart that was offering it for sale. Maybe he wanted to buy it. Maybe he wanted to take a selfie with it. But it's obviously not because he wanted a cop to walk in and shoot him dead, making that question irrelevant, and bringing it up with the same breath as "why did the cop shoot him immediately" is disrespectful. The latter is the ONLY question that matters. Why did he pick up what looks like a real gun and take it with him to a completely different aisle / part of the store?
Then how about not shooting? There is no such thing as a "non lethal" shot. I am a trained SWAT sniper and former Marine and I still can't tell what is going to happen when my round enters your body. I can shoot you in your shoulder and have the round ricochet off your collar bone into your heart.
Aside from that officers are trained to shoot center mass. We are also trained to use deadly force when we need just that, death. If I am trying to be less than lethal I have taser, pepper spray, fists, ect.
That was the entire point of my last sentence. I was addressing the question of "why not shoot in the leg" type question. Then how about not shooting?
lol its a fake gun. If it is a problem then wlmart shouldn't have been selling it in the first place. The guy was probably just holding on to that one item while shopping for other stuff.im not blaming i just didnt see a phone , i live too far away to judge and nothing ive seen here deserves death but jesus put the fake gun down timmy
Disgusting scum of the earthTrigger Warning for violence on this, man shot by cop while getting license after being pulled over for seat belt violation
Blahblahblah Not all cops blahblahblah not a race problem blahblahblah
No lol. That is what Fractured Shadow meant by Monday Night Quarterbacking.Oh......so you were calling me a keyboard warrior..................ok.![]()
Firstly, calm down, no one is trying to blame the victim. Don't look for arguments that are not there, you tend to do that a lot. I commented on the video, those questions are all valid and all came to mind. And if the only question that mattered was "why did the cop shoot him immediately", than why would we ask "why was Wal-Mart selling a pellet gun"? That question is more irrelevant than any of the ones I asked. The answer to that question is...Who the fuck cares? Reality is, this dude picked up an item at Walmart. That's literally all he did. The item happened to be a fake gun, but while we're at it, let's ask: "why was Walmart selling a pellet gun?" Obviously that would be ridiculous.
You kinda missed entire point. Yes "why was Walmart selling a pellet gun?" is extremely irrelevant. That's exactly what I'm trying to say. My point is, if we're going to ask "why did the victim pick up a pellet gun?" (which I don't think we should be asking), then we might as well ask why was Walmart selling the gun to begin with (which we also shouldn't be asking). The point is, if the presence of the pellet gun in the victim's hand should be questioned, then the presence of the pellet gun on the shelf of a public place should be questioned too. In reality, neither should be, because it's a freaking fake gun. The only thing that matters is why did a man lose his life at the hands of a trigger happy cop, and not why did he pick up an item that was there to be sold, because the answer to that is irrelevant (say he wanted to buy it, or was just holding it to take a picture with it, or just thought it looked cool...what difference does it make?).Firstly, calm down, no one is trying to blame the victim. If you're white there's people out there who will fight for your 2nd amendment rights, don't worry. You know what's really sad about this whole situation besides tbis guy losing his life?
That the media single handed is fucking destroying our constitutional rights to carry. It is such bad juju to open carry in fear that some fucktard
will call a false alarm into 911 and you end up being hassled by tbe cops, arresstsd, or even worse shot for expressing your constitutional rights.
This country is turning into one big Liberal pussified cesspool and manoat his life because of it.
Stating questions that come to mind doesn't equate to blaming. You are the only person trying to make it out like I'm saying him picking up the gun and walking around Wal-Mart is equally as bad as the cop shooting him. What's disrespectful is for you to assume I'm even comparing the two. The biggest issue is him being shot, I've said that 3 times now, maybe more, I've at least said it in 3 different posts. I live by the idea you should question everything, it's cool if you don't agree with that type of philosophy, but don't put words in my mouth and make it seem like I'm victim blaming, especially when I've explicitly stated otherwise. You kinda missed entire point. So yeah, you missed the point. And I'm not sure at what point did I give the impression that I'm not calm. Since you're familiar with my tendencies (apparently), you should know that I'm at least capable of debating a point without being outraged.
I still find equating "why did he pick up a fake gun?" to "why did he get shot?" in terms of importance, quite disrespectful. If that's not victim blaming then what is it? I mean people are implying that he's stupid for carrying a fake gun, which makes him partially responsible for his own death. I find this ludicrous. The argument IS there and it doesn't take a genius to deduce it.
You can't say "I'm not trying to blame him but why was he carrying the gun?" because saying you don't blame him is negated by the very question.

You agree with me, so I don't understand what you are arguing here. So stop, lol.
well i mean by americas past gun problems i wouldnt be even messing with a fake, sad but truelol its a fake gun. If it is a problem then wlmart shouldn't have been selling it in the first place. The guy was probably just holding on to that one item while shopping for other stuff.
That cop was clearly not experienced. I'm sure police officers are trained to be extremely mindful of someone reaching back into their car; for all he knows that guy was reaching for a gun. What in the Christing fuck was that cop thinking?
