No, they will still complain about you spamming the same strings (not that they'd use the term strings, though).Scrubs delight... YAY, NO MORE SPAMMING

Bare bones sonuds more like it's the variation before the variation. For instance, Kano would have knives and kano balls, Scorpion would have teleport, spear and hellfire, etc.A variation that removes all specials.
That sounds like zero fun.
All normals, you literally have to rely on your combo ability and fundamentals. Sounds challenging but coolA variation that removes all specials.

Love the Avatar.
That would be cool. Sort of like an MKX version of MK1 Scorpion, for example.Bare bones sonuds more like it's the variation before the variation. For instance, Kano would have knives and kano balls, Scorpion would have teleport, spear and hellfire, etc.
Yeah that's what it sounds like. I doubt it's a "no specials" variation and everybody is just punching each other and then the 1 char with awesome long range Aquamang normals just dominates. That would be cool. Sort of like an MKX version of MK1 Scorpion, for example.

No tag, no buy. With information from content creators still pouring in from their trips to GamesCom in Cologne, Germany our friend over at MKUniverse.lu got a very nice interview with Ed Boon. With this interview being over 15 minutes in length with really awesome questions we have made a list of key information throughout that we have listed below. One bit of information has never been heard before...
Key notes:
- completey new story-line that follows Mortal Kombat 9 jumping 5, 10, 15 up to 25 years in the future
- story mode in MKX can be compared to MK9 in length
- Kotal Kahn is NOT related to Shao Kahn in any way. Kotal was ruling Outworld in a part of the story and has relationships with D'Vorah, etc
- Kano is not Lin Kuei (with how cybernetic/cyborg he is now)
- there will be no stage transitions in MKX, there will be single stages only
- stage Fatalities are likely
- @6:28 mark: NRS is entertaining a variation that has none of the features of the other variations, a bare-bones variation targeted at the pro players who "want to show off" - haven't decided yet
- tag team mode NOT likely
- New challenge tower NOT likely, however a new mode will be a replacement for the challenge tower
- New "Finish Him" graphics probably close to final
- Toasty guy returning? Boon mentions that the Toasty guy was put in to MK9 very late
- character endings will likely be the same, meaning no crazy CGI story endings due to cost
- No MKX demo news at this time, Boon states, "not that I know of"

That made me laugh hard. Dunno how anybody could like that totally broken tag in MK9.No tag, no buy.

Highlights in no order:
-No Tag
-Story about as long as MK9s
-Not following mk4-DE plots at all.
-No Tower, but something new involving towers
-Scorpion's 2nd fatal may be the one from the trailer
-Kano is not a Lin Kuei, also still mostly man.
-No transitions / multi part stages.
-Comparable cast size to MK9 + DLC.
-Guest has already been decided, stop asking.
-New Online Mode; "involves everybody".
-Same Kotal stuff, rise and fall in story, not final boss.
-No Stryker Jr.
-Forden still on music, no word on toasty
-Still with the flash / slide show endings
-New ality may not be called "-ality"
Think thats it.
This is it, precisely. I only started playing MK9 because I played tag with a buddy. I find the dismissiveness of anything not hyper-competitive to be pretty off-putting. I know this is a site all about the competition, but that is no reason to shut out other angles. NRS isn't going to run out of disc space due to including tag mode.No tag mode? That sucks...
@Immortal Tag mode was targeted towards casual, fun play. Someone like me who spends hours and hours in the lab could play with a buddy who plays maybe an hour a week, go online, and have a great time. Contrast that with 1v1 where it's a curbstomping, it immediately becomes not so fun for casual play.
Well, NRS isn't omitting it to smite non-competitive casuals. They're doing it because its a crazy heavy duty mode to put in your game after the fact. They already did it once, so until they change the game to MK Tag Tournament, I wouldn't get your hopes up.This is it, precisely. I only started playing MK9 because I played tag with a buddy. I'm not talking about NRS. Some members of this community take every opportunity to thrash tag, while declaring its ommission an obvious decision. I'm saying that there are other perspectives, and laughing at them is poor form.Well, NRS isn't omitting it to smite non-competitive casuals. 1. That 4th barebones variation sounds interesting
2. FEBRUARY 29TH 2015 GET HYPE
If you want tolerance and understanding, these definitely aren't the droids you're looking for. The only person who gets to have a difference of opinion and not get torch and pitchforked around here is REO and maybe the Terrys.I'm not talking about NRS.
