I will always love Weird Al. I've been a fan of his since I can remember.weird al lost a lot of his edge in the age of youtube parodies. its hard to even make a case for him being better at it than the internet guys. weird al holds a place in parody history though.
Another one of my favorites for sure. =Donly grammar nazis love this one...
For me his best work was this...
Which artists would those be, though? I'm struggling to think of a YouTube artist who is at least on par with Weird Al, let alone someone who is actually better. While he may not stack up to the YouTube parodies we have today, I still enjoy his stuff. This song is absolutely amazing.
I can't think of any in particular. I was just avoiding saying the guy was completely wrong in regards to his opinion.Which artists would those be, though? I'm struggling to think of a YouTube artist who is at least on par with Weird Al, let alone someone who is actually better.
Weird Al has been doing this for decades and it shows, and I mean that in a good way. His songs, even these new ones, have depth and sound like it took a while to put together. Most of the other YouTube artists are kind of entertaining, but they lack polish and sound like they were brainstormed and executed over a weekend.
If I'm not mistaken, the current Associated Press Style Guide still does not accept the Oxford comma. I do agree with you that its use should depend on whether or not it helps avoid ambiguity. Ambiguity, which can lead to confusion, is a big reason why people argue that it is important for (written) language to follow strict standards. An Oxford Comma is actually OK.
God foil is funnyHe's doing a video a day. Day 4 just went live: http://weirdal.com/. Posting this just as I watch it for the first time...
edit: as clever as Word Crimes is, I lost it with the direction the Foil song goes in
Gotta love how the parody has like 3x more views than the original on Youtube. lolThis is brilliant. Amish Paradise remains in my #1 spot though.
That was Tony Mason, not weird alI don't know, some of the "current hip parodies" now kind of suck, Weird Al is a classic and most of his videos are pretty funny. Especially Barny's on fire lmao. That had me rolling the first time I heard it.
I'm offended! Explain yourself! The fact that an American wrote this song truly is ironic.
My, my, this here Anakakin guy!The absolute best Weird Al song is The Saga Begins... I can't even hear the original without thinking of this version lol
Haha was just a little light joke on you Americans ruining the English language (favourite and colour for example).I'm offended! Explain yourself!
I was joking as well. I wouldn't take offense to something like that.Haha was just a little light joke on you Americans ruining the English language (favourite and colour for example).
Also, you will never hear a Brit say "I could care less", when they mean "I couldn't care less", which is something a lot of Americans on here say.
But, like I said, was just a joke. I know you're not all bad
