meh Chris had his moments. Six Feet Under isn't really interesting IMO. Pretty generic unlike CC that evolved over time. Plus Alex and Paul are excellent song writers. Especially Alex understanding odd time signitures and utilizing that in CC's overall song writing style. And Corpsegrinder is a badass. They are pretty overrated, I haven't heard anything interesting from them since Chris Barnes left.
In my opinion, it's the same as the Sepultura situation that once Max left neither bands did much of anything interesting, and it's not like Derrick Greene is a bad vocalist either.meh Chris had his moments. The vocals and lyrics are the things that keep me from listening to Cannibal Corpse too much tbh. I usually just listen to Alex Webster's bass lines on either covers(people turn up the bass) or the actual bass track separated from anything else(some of those on youtube too).In my opinion, it's the same as the Sepultura situation that once Max left neither bands did much of anything interesting, and it's not like Derrick Greene is a bad vocalist either.
Alex's bass has been buried lower and lower in the mix until now, and the guitars just sound like one chainsaw noise with no note definition or clarity. The songs seem to lack the hooks that they had in their older albums. When I saw them live I could have sworn Corpsegrinder was just growling "Cannibal Corpse" over and over into the mic instead of the actual lyrics too.
Eh, somehow Max seems to have worse English now than when he was a teenager in Sepultura, his lyrics are all so embarrassingly bad now and he can't even sing and play his guitar at the same time anymore. I just get so embarrassed whenever I see videos of him live nowadays, he's really let himself go. Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy does have some moments that are good though. All I can do now is listen to R.I.P. off of Schizophrenia and cry because the good Sepultura is dead and resting in pain.CC Live, yeah I can agree that Corpsegrinder sometimes sounds like he's mumbleing. However, album versions everything can be heard. At least I can anyway. Their latest album torture, everything was equalized and you can clearly hear Alex's bass. I understand your point though @Error. However, even Cavalera had his ups and downs with his later projects. Probably Soulfly has been the closest to his legacy in Sepultura. I'm still a fan of his however.
