Hello wonderful world of TYM. I am going down this road not knowing where it will take me or how it will be received, but it has been on my mind for a while and want to get some input.

Next, please allow me to put in caps: THIS IS NOT A CRY FOR NERFS IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM. I love injustice, its probably my favorite game and I think its great as is. Plus, everyone knows there are no more patches coming. This post is strictly to start discussion and gather opinions. Now that the housekeeping is out of the way, lets get to the good stuff.

It is my belief that every character should have some really good/borderline OP tools that individually make them a great character. And I feel like the top tier characters in this game have those things. Tools like safe teleports, meterless vortexs, and specials that are safe and do extreme chip damage could all be listed as really good tools. And it is these tools that get complained about the most. But I think those complaints are misplaced, because in most cases, without them, the characters with them would no longer be as good.

So what I am looking into is ways that could keep the top tiers great, but make it easier for the rest of the cast to play go even with them. So lets get started with this months most tear inducing character.

Aquaman:
A lot has been made recently of every aquamans favorite move, trident rush. We all know the story, it does too much chip, builds too much meter, can't be punished by most of the cast, etc. Yes trident rush is an awesome move, maybe the best in the game, and it may be OP. But thats not what makes aquaman such a dominating character. We all know what its like to fight aquaman if you don't have a single hit lauching starter. Block FTD, dash in, block FTD dash in, make a good read, hit AM, and poof, he wets himself and all that chip you took and risk to get in was for naught. It also helps him get out of set ups once he's knocked down. So trident rush doesn't make Aquaman the best or second best in the game, its his trait that impacts most of his matchup numbers.

My proposal for aquaman would be to limit him to one trait use per round. Honestly, he would be fine without it at all, since no other character in the game gets a get out of jail free card, but I don't want to change him to much. It would create mind games for the opponent and aquaman, similar to a wager (should I use trait here, save it, is he gonna use it etc) and would help make some of his easier matchups more even.

Martian Manhunter:
People like to call him the new Kabal, I prefer to call him the frankenstein of injustice. Why you ask? Its as if NRS looked at all the tools required to be a great character in injustice and gave them to MMH. If there was a create a character mode, everyone would make a character with the tools of Martian. Air dash: check, 50/50's: check, screen control: check, footsies: check, zoning: check, counter-zoning: check, invincible wake ups: check, set ups: check, corner game: check. He just simply has it all. So I don't really know of a way to tone him down without changing him to much. I don't think a teleport should ever be safe, so OH tele should be punishable or need to be MB'D to be made safe. A case could be made for him to not need a teleport at all, but its so important to his combos, maybe it could only be used mid-combo? IDK help me with this.

Batgirl:
Batgirl is a great character with a lot of tools. Meterless vortex that will make you cry when used with certain interactables, great corner damage, one of the best wake ups in the game, a wake up that leads to said vortex, etc. Is her vortex really good, borderline OP? Yes. But that is what makes her good. So I propose getting rid of her teleport. How would this help? With all most other characters that wanna get in your face and 50/50 you to death, (flash, wonder woman, lobo to name a few) they have to work to get in, and a lot of characters can at least zone them for a bit to keep them away. Not batgirl. Throw a projectile, tele into vortex. Go for interactable, tele into vortex. Ill timed dash, tele into vortex. She just simply doesn't need it. Some say shes struggles with footsies so you may be able to talk me into giving her a dash and walk speed boost to make up for it, depending on how many beers I've consumed.

Zod: I actually think zod is a pretty well designed character. His trait mix ups are really good, and the screen control trait gives him over interactables is also very good, but that is what makes him a good character. I would say maybe with the "nerfs" of the other tops tiers, one could argue for a longer cool down of his trait, but other than that I think hes fine.

Other then those 4 characters I think everyone else is pretty fair, besides Bane, and I have no idea how you could tone him down now. And I think the aforementioned changes would still allow the characters listed to do really well, it would just make the mid and low tier characters able to compete on more even ground.

What do you think? Would these be to much or not enough? Any other changes you would make, or is there no need for changes.
 
I believe that batgirl isn't a problem. All she has is a safe vortex. Just how Freddy Kruger had one in mk. If he landed a JIP it was either overhead or low.
If you wanna make her not as good. Make her bola lose that block stun.

Babs is fine the way she is. Same with everyone else you named. Babs has to take risks to hit you and a random teleport is a HUGE risk. My only problem with her tele is that it's safe on whiff.

For Aquaman I think if MB trident rush was made unsafe and universally punishable, he would be fine. Still good, as regular does about five percent I believe.

MMH: Automatixally disable interactables if this character is chosen

Aquaman:
Trait does not get out of specials, including B3/F3.
FTD is slightly more negative.
MB Trident Rush significantly less safer on block.

Martian:
Orbs to disappear if contacted by an attack.
Overhead Teleport to require a bar to use.

Batgirl:
No changes. Not anyone's fault that Sonic Fox picked her up.

Zod:
When trait is on the screen, the interactable button is disabled until it disappears.

I agree and Im Adding to your Aquaman list, MB trident is broken and it should be normalized by building little to no meter since it does 15% chip and with less pushback should be -15 on block. I don't mind taking that chip if I can blast him after for it.

MMH, fuck this guy, shouldn't be able to have 2 orbs out at one time idgaf if its MB or not, reduce his advantage on MB orbs also, he can keep that OH teleport just make it so its not ambiguous because that shit is broke and the splash is retarded.

Batgirl, due to the nature that her cartwheel is a 50/50 the 50/50 options should be way more punishable, I would say -10 at least and let her keep the one safe mid option and allow her to MB the 50/50 options for something so shes not completely robbed of a bum 50/50 and still has use of the cartwheel. Bola should be neutral on block.

Bane, FUCK THIS GUY, should keep all of trait options except for armor. He should only have armor on lvl 3 venom for that clutch factor, debuff should be longer because I swear that shit isn't long enough, and that fucking MB uppercut shouldn't have to separate sets of armor per hit!

Zod, the nature of the Joker MU vs Zod is Just a Joke. The only things I could really say is add recovery time to trait and make those lasers plus advantage lower. Zod always has meter and builds more then he can use, the fact that he can lock you in once he gets lasers on you and pushes you back safely for a free trait call is bull shit. Also make his Zod balls only comboable in mid air not off any stray hit so people could actually trade with them without floating in the air for a free trait sommon and finally trait slaps shouldn't lock you down to get hit with an interactable. If you can jump over the interactable on reaction he shouldn't be able to grab you after. That's fucking dumb.

And finally this Fucker Flash. This character is just broke. Idek know how you can normalize his damage, setups, and overall control of shit. I could rant about this character but everybody already knows hes bull shit.

Zod isnt broke but if top 3 got nerfed he would reign supreme so he needs to be hit slightly
only thing broke about water man is trident rush, make regular rush punishable and mb have less adv and build less meter

Really? Imagine the game without MB B3/F3, pushblock, etc. We'd probably have more of those crazy 8-2 matchups we saw in MK.
U R rite because giving everyone the ability to do 40% unbreakables at the minimum helps a matchup where the top tier can use moves like that freely (batman, mmh, etc). Not to mention all the meter they build so whats the fear in using a move thats not only plus, has armor, but also grants a combo, unbreakable combo, and potentially even a stupid crossup?
