NY_Jailhouse
Warrior
fair: sadira, jago, thunder
hard: glacius, wulf
edit: below were my very early thoughts (like 3 days play)
Ok, obviously the game is very new and matchups are bound to change. But for those of us who have played A LOT already, youl probably be able to get a handle on how the numbers will look in the future.
IMO, this game is insanely balanced and mostly relies on playing the PLAYER which is why i love it so much. it feels like third strike (parry = shadow counter)/sfxt (footsies very similar imo)/guilty gear (counterbreaker = burst bait) for the new generation in that regard, in that there are universal mechanics that allow for HARD reads to dominate the majority of matches
Orchid matchups:
Jago: 4-6 (slide is completely useless, his footsies are better)
wulf: 5-5 (very similar character design, both rushdown/reset monsters.. will be very even imo. wulf is way easier to get started with though so right now they might have adv)
sadira: 4-6 (leaning towards 5-5 if you can meaty her every time. main problem with sadira is that you have to play against her completely different from every other charcater in the game which makes her the best IMO. it really feels like playing against valentine in Skullgirls in a very weird but not so weird way, those whove played that game probably can see where im coming from. She gets away from orchid's instinct VERY easily. instinct must be saved for block/hit confirm and you have to keep her on the ground afterwards or instinct becomes useless. most difficult matchup to use the cats in imo)
thunder : 5-5/? (not enough experience against the best thunder players like rico/etc but from what ive seen so far its pretty easy to say 5-5.
glacius: 6-4 (definitely tough for glacius. Riyo plays this matchup very well in that you basically have to bait her with holding light hail a lot or glacius will just get rushdown bodied. slide is extremely good against him unless he has light hail. glacius has to take risks all the time on unsafe moves to get out of the corner. air throw very good against him, dash forward DP's body his air options.)
hard: glacius, wulf
