MLG Anaheim's Hype Tournament Moments - Discussion Thread

That's about right.
I know the event was ran poorly, but can we talk about the matches coming up today? Theo vs. Jupiter, Pig vs Filipino Man. Gonna be good.

Theo vs Jupiter. Upset no matter who wins.

Just praying it runs much better today. All I ask. No 30 minute breaks between every 3/5, and I'll be fine.

I have to admit, I'm skipping that one. Hype I:GAU matches would be cool, but MLG's a shit organization and from the multiple blow ups they just showed how bad they are.

Glad someone agrees, MLG is shady as fuck. They have been for a long time. Whether intentional or not.

I bet they don't ever release a simple "sorry for all the trouble and wasted time we're causing you". Unless they get put on major blast.

The thing is, back when it was MK9 and KoFXIII I did give them a chance, but KoF dudes didn't and after seeing one tournament on stream I could see why. It is not a fun stream experience (and their game was likely shit on the same as I:GAU so...)

People who were around in the MK9 days say it was a blast actually being there. I trust them on that, I wasn't there. All I know is that the dude handling the stream (a stream director, if you will) has no fucking clue how to handle a fighting game and it showed.

I made it to the 2012 Raleigh Summer Championship. Was down there already visiting family about an hour away. It was fun live, but then again it was my first fighting game major I'd ever actually been to. But I did hear the stream was all fucked up. But this year, Jesus. I'm just so thankful I didn't spend $1,000 for a plane ticket and however much for the entry fee and hotel. I'd be even more salty than I am now.

Mandoa from IEBattlegrounds laid out what happened at MLG last night, all the delays are understandable now but they still shoulda ran more matches on stream. When the net died they lost all their Challonge info so they had to redo brackets and seeds again and couldn't run anything till they got stuff back on challonge due to legal stuff, IGAU cap card died, then it took awhile to fix, then cams died that took awhile to fix adn the reason for the long delays in matches was because the judges had tos cramble to run things as fast as possiblke. Smash had problems to, they weren't expected to end till 3AM last night.

For anyone who has an Xbox One, there's an MLG app for it which is actually quite nice, makes it easy to watch on your TV... at least I was able to watch a good amount of Smash with it

Wow.. Sounds like everything that can go wrong, did go wrong.

Is there a link to the explanation?

Mando talked about it on IEBattlegrounds last night. MLG just needs to start using paper brackets and find a way around this legal stuff that keeps them from it.
