The absence of the Northeast at UFGTX

MrSoloLobo

I have a keen eye for all things broken.
After reading this thread, it is obvious the west coast is downplayed. Only like 5 people from WC travel and when they do, like 3 of the 5 make top 16. I'm getting really hyped up for MLG and evo. Its gonna be awesome having representatives from every scene.

i dont get you, in no way is saying that EC being there would have made it more hype is diminishing the tournament. WB would have been more hype if all the scenes were there, doesn't take away the fact that it was fucking hype and KDZ won etc i just really wanted EC to go, stop trying to make it seem like i'm diminishing the tournament when i'm clearly not. i want all tournaments to have the highest amount of competition, and what i'm trying to accomplish is getting more EC players, notorious for not traveling, to travel to all these awesome events. if i could by myself i would and will be doing for MLG EVO and CEO regardless if other EC players are going, UFGT was a special case because i had to spend so much on fixing my car.
You said, "on the contrary" when what you said was not contrary. If you had said that the EC not being there made the tournament BETTER then it would have been contrary to what he was thinking, but you pretty much rephrased what he said.

I agree with you though, I think it is better when all scenes are represented.

A lot of people keep hitting the same points. Lots of east coast majors and lots of no money. Truth is, All of these events are so close together, People gotta pick and choose which ones are worth it to them. If i was in the west or mid west and there was only one major in those areas (SCR and UFGT) Id be able to save up for an event like NEC, or TFC or EVO because im only going to two or three tournies a year. For us north east folk we have one almost every 2 months. I know for me, It costs me a good 100-200 bucks a weekend for a major. If i had to travel and what not, it would easily make it past 400 for one weekend. Evo alone takes up close to 600 to have a good time. and most of us don't have a true sponsor to go out and enjoy the tournaments in the west and mid west. I also think people are saving up for MLG and EVO. Everything is so close together that it really makes it hard to choose. Think about it, In May there was NWM, ECT, Toryuken, UFGT, and then in June there is CEO and MLG, then two weeks later there is EVO. There is literally an event in every coast. I would love to come to an west coast event or a Midwest event. Its just hard when I can just wait to go to all the Philly/New Jersey tournaments and still play some of the best players out there.

But lets be real. We are the better coast and come EVO/TFC time We will reclaim dominance. Hope to see you guys at TFC!

99% of the north east ONLY cares about a weekly tourney once a week. The overall effort to level up is few and far between. Training does not matter, play your 2 games once a week and go home.

North East is falling. Its the only region where there is an apparent offline scene but you can only play them in sessions online, if that even. I had to BEG to get what offline scene I have now. EC scene is on life support.

Just wondering...how the fuck is that relevant? I live in the Middle East by the way.

But I forgot, unless you've attended a tournament, you're not allowed to jokingly point out that PPJ won a major on the East Coast. That shit requires credentials.
Nah i was kinda just wondering. Was also Curious how you were going to react to me asking the question. I mostly asked cause i only see you on the forums and no one makes mention of you in real life at tournaments and such. So i was kinda curious. I doesn't really matter if you go to tournaments or not. Since you live in Middle East not much you can do. Shrugs.

I write too much.
used all the remaining money i had saved for ufgt to catch up on credit card bills so that next month i have space to use credit at MLG, CEO and EVO. if my car had better gas mileage i would go ever week to the break. i spend almost 1/3 gas tank going back an forth :(.
I feel you on that man. Until my car broke down again recently I was using a full tank gathering half of the Cinci scene and driving them to and from the arcade every week. It's expensive!

How is the answer to this not automatic logic?
True, but on the flip side it allows you to play people you might not normally play if you just stick to things in your backyard.

Are you serious. Okay this is just fucked up dude. I get it you have Beef with the people at the Break. Or the Break in general. But we do practice when we can. We have Sessions from time to time when we get the chance. And we get them before the Break starts. Its does suck that we cannot do them after i will not deny that. We do care about the other tournaments and we do want to level up. We want to get better. And no offense but what are YOU DOING. All i see you doing is complaining. You promised me games at ECT and didn't give me any games. I really wanted to play against you dude. Because you are great player and i thought very highly of you. But after the way you have been acting and basically saying the break sucks i have realized that you are not who i thought you were. That shit is fucked up. Look i know what it is liked when people insult you. And i know what its like to think about it so much that it really gets down into your skin and makes you fell like total shit. But dude the answer is to ignore that shit and just keep doing what you love. I never recall the break saying shit about you. So i have no idea where you got the from. Except for Jaxel. But he does that shit to everyone just ignore him. My advice to you from one person to another is to ignore the shit the haters say, ignore the trolling, and in time you will see what you are able to do. So now you can either attempt to take some of what i said to heart since i do think pretty high of you. Or you can think of me as one of those people at the Break who don't like you. Which none of us do. But when you start saying the shit you have been saying about the Break and acting like you have been its pretty hard to not want to say anything dude.

Not to agree or disagree with this, but didn't The Break, House of Crack and one other NE place who's name I can't remember at the moment all have issues with Injustice attendance not that long ago?
I remember seeing multiple threads about this and hearing about Grrr showing up to the venue and spending the day playing alone in practice since nobody else was showing up.

Isn't that an indication that maybe there is a problem, or is this no longer what is happening?

The break has always been good. House of Crack got noone. This is in New York. Next Level was getting noone. This was also in new york. The break is in New jersey. different scene to some extent. It would cost like $10+ in tolls to get to Next Level. And some people from the Break did go there. But for what ever reason they stopped. Tom's Post didnt put any regard towards People from New York who let their Local Tournament Die. He was more gong to the people at the Break.

i never said that EC not being there diminished it at all, quite the contrary, i believe it would have been more hype had EC gone to UFGT which myself and @CrimsonShadow tried so hard to make happen. (sorry that i forgot to post that you were trying to help out and i really appreciate all that you do crim crim). an obviously am new here i joined just 35 minute before posting this and was trolling saying the EC would have dominated UFGT free and that if EC traveled we'd body anyone free as well.........
We will never know if the EC would have bodied everyone free,

I just think threads like this are pointless. Its like saying. Well if we woulda been there it woulda been different. NO SHIT lol.

I think it's cool you tried to go and all, but if you can't go I mean, whats the point making a thread about how you wished you could have went. Thats like me saying, well, if every player in Canada could have went and not just Honey Bee and his bro, well things woulda been different. Maybe I should make a thread out of it because I'm not known as the best Green Arrow. :joker:

Just seems like it was pointless thread. Everyone knows the east has strong players, but like you said, even at NEC there were only 2 in top 8 or something, so you just gotta show up to the next one and bop people to prove them wrong.

Oh well. I don't really care, just thought the whole thing was a pointless way for the EC to be in the light after a strong tourny that they werent at. As I understand it there was a tourny up there anyways, that looked like it had a nice turn out and some new winners. So fun was had by all.

Oh, and HoneyBee is the new Flash of America, even though he's Canadian :REO

Honestly, i wouldnt travel either if i had as many regionals as EC. That being said, you cant compete with the best or call yourself the best when your only playing the same people. You have to play the best to be the best. So ya, be in the best in your region, but you cant take away the accomplishments from other scenes for doing their part to show up and prove themselves.

Heads up!
Da Beach for a week took priority over UFGT. I would have loved to make it there but I haven't been giving the game any time except a few days before I'd go to a tournament. It's not worth it haha. School is starting soon anyway. I wish I could make EVO but not being 21 is a big decider for that too. I think the East Coast has a good chance at stopping Theo but also there are a lot of players out there who will take out those competitors. We have to worry about many character specialists and also strong players who we haven't seen the play style of, go against the best of the East Coast. Evo is going to be very interesting and I look forward to seeing how it plays out. There's no doubt in my mind that the top 16 will have a variety of each scene. GGA is strong as hell, along with ATL. We've seen many strong players from texas too in the recent tournaments. The canadians are here to kill also. We haven't seen much from the Vegas crew but I know DJT and MIT are going to be turning every head there as they always do. Also, the tristate area and WC are going to be coming in full force to EVO. This is going to be a crazy touranment and I'm not sure who is going to take it all because we sure as hell know that there are tons of players who can make that run and also nobody is a God. Any body can beat anybody.

On that ramble, there's many strong players, just keep leveling up and get ready for the big showdown!

Ah yeah, Next Level was the other one I was thinking of, and my bad, I thought all 3 of those were in roughly the same area.

To be fair though, Tom's post says NE in general. That said, I don't know what the deal is there; I just know that I'm in Ohio and for some reason have to travel to Chicago to see the Cleveland guys :p

also i never said we were the best, the point of the thread is to point of the lack of EC traveling, and encourage them to do so. trust me my first edit of this thread wasn't very nice and would have stirred a lot of controversy, i was about to call out the EC but made this instead.

For the record, SoCal only has one tournament a week (and sometimes a few people go to casuals on Friday) and I think we're doing fine in the skill department.

And how can you really complain when you don't even go to the Break...? Maybe if you all tried to go every week the scene would be stronger.
