Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Trailer

Play Monster Hunter!
Might gamefly it.

Only ever played a single CoD and didn't care much for it.

I have a thing for futuristic gadgets though.

Lets see last Call of Bullshit I bought was MW2 never got any other one after that, never even bought BF3 or 4 or any of the dude bro shooters after that MW2.

Its good to see they IDK are trying to change things up, but I will not pre-order this nor will I even consider buying it until I actually see how good it even is.

A SP campaign that lasts a 4-5 hours is a waste of my time and I don't need 12 year olds calling me a [ban incoming] while trying to relax and play a game.

Always gonna support COD games because they provide quality and fun gameplay all the time. And now with MLG+ESPN picking up Injustice and KI it's an even bigger reason to support the COD competitive scene.

Never understood the silly complaints about sequels being too similar to previous iterations and not innovative enough. I mean what did you expect, of course all CODs need to play similar. It's a successful series for a reason. It works and you shouldn't make drastic changes to something that isn't broken. Otherwise if you wanna take risks you might as well create a new IP.

The issue becomes why pay 60$ to play a new game when it's the same thing as the previous game? It's bad enough they nickle and dime you with DLC for map packs and crap which all used to be free when COD first came out and had dedicated servers and an open modding community. So what they have done now is taken away former functionality, charged you extra for it and now they are charging you for a clone of the last game you bought. Now why should I support such practices? Where is the incentive?

When my only voice is to vote with my wallet, I'm going to choose to place my vote elsewhere. I'm glad you enjoy the games but I personally think they are a waste of money and that activisions greed has ruined the franchise.

So I'm gonna go on a limb and say you don't play Madden series or NBA 2k series......right?
Right. I played NHL for a while each year the game seemed to keep getting better but NHL13 was junk and as such I didn't buy 14 after seeing reviews. At least with sports games you can somewhat justify their purchase with the fact they they get updated rosters but even then like map packs they could just as easily be patched into the prior years game.

But in general you are correct I haven't purchased a madden or nba game in a long time.

But you don't have to buy every COD game...

I only played COD4, MW2 and COD ghosts. They were all great for similar reasons but had different enough variations to warrant a purchase.

Ideally COD should be like SF4 and only get updated every 6 months with new maps, new weapons, new chapters, features, modes, gimmicks etc. But unfortunately we know selling a new game makes more money.

You can hate the model all you want but it doesn't matter because it works and it's successful.

Honestly the FGC could learn a lot from COD and LoL. For example if there was a new IGAU every year. Most of competitive players might prefer the first one and the first one might be the only one that matters in the competitive scene. But that is no reason to not try slightly different iterations if it can make NRS more money. You and I personally might not buy IGAU2 but casuals definitely will. And if casuals want to pay 60$ for IGAU3 then why would you stop them? They like what you're doing and want to support you. They are willing to dish out 60$ every year for the same game but with new characters, stages, story chapters, features and mode. WHY STOP THEM? WHY WOULD YOU REFUSE THEIR WALLET?

There's a lot of stupid rich people out there (or hardcore DC fanboys, addicted collectors etc) willing to spend more than you and me. Let them spend as much as they want. Milk them as much as possible. It would be stupid not to.

All I gotta say is if Sledgehammer is anything like Infinity Ward i'm gonna stop playing Call of Duty.

Not only does Treyarch actually care about their players, they have the best casual game mode in zombies of any game i've ever played. Really upset with this news.
Well. Sledgehammer helped Ghosts...

I've played every COD and will most likely get this one for PS4.
However, I do the same thing with every version. Play it Day One and sell it before the first map packs come out.
The COD that I found the weakest in terms of Multiplayers would have to go to COD Ghosts. Some of the maps were too big and the guns were way too strong.
So far, base on the trailers, it at least looks like they are making an attempt to change the formula up a bit.

I gotta say, despite my severe disdain for the CoD franchise, this looks cool for two reasons: futuristic tech and Kevin Spacey.

It works and is successful because people allow it to be. But that can change, money talks. CoD Ghosts was a failure in comparison to it's predecessors and Activision knows this (It's why Treyarch is getting a longer dev time for their next release), it was seen in the numbers and in its reviews. And it's funny you mention LoL, I played dota the game LoL was designed off of all through college and while I know LoL is wildly successful I think DotA 2's business model is much better (Pay to change the look of your hero not to unlock shit). Not to get sidetracked too much but I don't see the purpose in playing a moba that is known to have power creep with their champ releases just to get people to spend money when you can play a balanced and more dynamic game that does not lock any of the heroes.

CoD sucked ever since MW2, but Kevin Spacey and House of Cards is amazing. My body is confused....

Am I actually considering buying a FPS based on the story mode? This is madness

Ghost isn't a good game, it's ok. Competitive play didn't become descent until players jumped down their throats for a broadcaster mode. Just about every map is too big and looks depressing and the game modes are bad. I mean, how do you not have capture the flag? Black ops 2 made a great leap in overall appeal and Ghost took a big step back.

Black Ops 2? Bad hit detection, inconsistent grenades, M8 exists, unbalanced maps. Ghost not being a good game? Well, that's a lie. Yes, it was shitty at first but Injustice was lackluster at first, as well with any pre-patch game. So what's your point? Let's look at the game now. The maps aren't "too big", in competitive they took out the ridiculous ones. But the hit detection is awesome and there's at least 2 relevant weapons per weapon type. Plus the movement in the game is awesome, it flows very well. Taking out CTF was a poor idea but Blitz is fine... I'm 100 times better at CTF but Blitz is more like high speed chess vs map control. Hardpoint should have been in, tho.
