A true DBZ fighting game?

These recent DBZ games have been a disappointment to me gameplay wise. I was wondering if we petitioned enough and demonstrated interest would NRS or even another company consider making a true DBZ fighting game?

I'm talking a game with a true combo system, cancelable specials, useful meter bars with actual purpose, among character specific things as well.

Most recent games in the DBZ franchise feel like button mashers and using the right analog stick to use specials is weird. Ideally I imagine the game being similar to budokai 3 with a combo system similar to that of MK9 or injustice.

Is this realistic or a pipe-dream at most?

We will not see another good DBZ game unfortunately. It's a good dream though but everyone will rush and buy the next DBZ game no matter how shitty it is.

Would love to see dimps make a DBZ game again.(They made B1, B2, B3, and Burst Limit)

Again just a dream :(

Something that I think would be amazing is a 2d DBZ fighter, with a really cool built in gimmick. Matches of course would play at a regular 2d speed, however you get the option to watch the replays "DBZ" style, where the speed is boosted times 5.

That option would probably create a very similar feel to the show with all the teleporting and insanely fast strikes.

Dragonball Z needs a developer who thinks of little touches like that...it would be godlike.

I want a game where Hercule does real damage again like Budokai 1
I never understood why they purposely handicapped that character in every game. But whatever, I remember reading how in street fighter Akuma actually has a lower overall amount of health but makes up for it with his tools and gameplay style.

One of dbz fighting games i believe was made by the original capcom team that made the original street fighter 2 i never tried it but i didn't hear many people still play it which is why i forget the name. I can't front a good fighting game for dbz is long over due .

Give em a bit more time and I'll have the only DBZ fighter I need. AAA devs be damned.

You mean Super DBZ. It's actually pretty hype.

Fuuuu is this a third party game? Reminds me of third strike, make a SSFIV-esque type of engine with this kind of gameplay and it'd be so hype to play.

yeah that makes sense, but Hercule didn't get anything to compensate

He was my favorite in those games up until he was useless lol

Its a fan game made by some guys who are both serious DBZ fans and fighting game "aficionados" (their words) who wanted to make a legit DBZ tournament fighter. You can download the demo right now, but the only characters really playable ATM are Goku and Vegeta. There's a lot left to do in it....but the game is freaking gorgeous looking. Its the DBZ game my 13 year old self always wanted.

Brb downloading.

I honestly thought they was doing good. But the fact that I've been playing DBZ games for years straight I just got bored of them. The best on Xbox is DBZ RB2. On Ps2 it was DBZ BT2.
If they were to make another DBZ game I think it should just be a remake of DBZ BT2 or a conjunction with naruto.
