Good point about the commentating , as I've said before I'll be much more professional next time, practicing for it also.
I think your commentary is absolutely fine the way it is.
I'm pretty sure you've commentated Top 8's before, and you toned it down then, but for pool matches, I like the way you commentate. I don't want to listen to monotone, boring commentators. You bring the hype to us at home, and make it even more fun to watch.

Don't change that.

invite her, we have good food, tell her ill give her a free PTH shirt, ill make her staff, ill shine shoes, ill personally see to it that you get at least 1 win, she can meet your weird ass friends, ill pay for her venue, ill make you wear a shirt on stream, ill bring you a protien shake, ill drop 10 pounds, she can have her own bathroom. And thats just a start.
Dammit that's actually a good argument to go, ok I'll see what I can do. More professionalism!!!

really? then how about this - the people against this are those who aren't confident in their own ability and are afraid of their competition; afraid that they may in fact play a top player round 1. and really, you've accomplished what in this game that deserves you being seeded over tons of other players? getting top 8 at what was once a regional until you demanded otherwise?

honestly, what is harder to accomplish as a player? using a weighted seeding system that caters to previous performers or a random system that makes skill the only determining factor if you make it out?
Sorry sir but the Seahawks play the 6th seed not the second

You need to understand logic rather than failed attempts at personal attacks

Seriously use f ing logic

injustice and its players have a ranking system?
we have a season and playoffs?
the nfl has 126+ teams?

there is so much wrong with this analogy but that's apparent to everyone excluding yourself.

also, when did i attack you personally? merely stating facts.

you "attacked" me, remeber?
The only people who say this are people who have no chance of being seeded anyway do they want this to increase their chances disregarding accolades or previous earned successes
Seriously use f ing logic
as if to say what im arguing for is illogical, thus, meritless.

what about when the number 4 seed has a lower win record then the number 6 seed, should the top players from each region be the ones seeded? What if the AFC south has 3 teams with the highest win record but only 2 make it out. DAMN YOU NFL! (not blowing pig up) just blowing the nfl up :] go panthers ( i guess it is a blow up since you are dirty bird fans down there)

"Streamers get 1-2k per day"

Official ranking and seeding system is incoming

If we are going to have someone run our tournament and draw out brackets then it has to be someone unbiased and knows the community.
There is no such thing. Everyone has biases. Even if they do their best to act without bias someone will accuse them of doing otherwise.
The only way to avoid it is by rigidly following a predetermined system that does not allow for anyone to make judgement calls.

About streamers, 1 streamer cannot stream the pools of every game
Excellent point. And I'm going to take this opportunity to shout out Avylon (and their local representative @AVN PTH jonnitti ) for recording off-stream matches at NEC. (I don't know if they're still doing this; I haven't been to a major since.) And if you've seen them in action you know that's just as much work and a thankless, volunteer job as anyone's at the tournament.

Everyone needs to keep in mind that something like 80% of the people at a major are not going to make top 16. Realistically a good chunk of them do not have any expectation of making top 16. Setting everything up to cater to the top 16 (or top 8) may help make hype finals, but it's biting the hand that feeds you.

i've been on both sides of the fence re: being seeded at majors vs. being a random unseeded player

you know what? my view hasn't changed one bit. i still stand by all of the following:

1. regional seeding is an absolute must, by far the most important part of making a bracket. at seasons beatings 3, a friend of mine had 2 matches in guilty gear and they were against the very 2 people he drove with. this was the legendary marn rigged bracket, fyi...makes for an absolutely godawful experience and is so easily avoidable. luckily everyone seems to be on top of this nowadays!

2. the other top consideration in my view: NO FLOATING EXCEPT IN *EXTREMELY* RARE CIRCUMSTANCES!!! we just had a controversy with this at final round, where neo & fchamp convinced the person in charge to change their spots in the marvel semifinal bracket, and there have been other instances in recent memory such as powerup. i would say evo does this right: if the cannons & wiz don't personally recognize a top player and throw him in a death bracket, they will and have moved said player elsewhere if people point it out to them soon enough. the only time i would ever consider floating acceptable is for a case like this, where you're trying to do proper skill seeding and made a mistake. and even then, only BEFORE the tournament starts! after the tournament begins, just suck it up and deal with your bracket.

3. the eventual goal re: skill seeding should be an OBJECTIVE, statistically-based system (e.g. evo points). period. i have posted stories on here before of how (both intentionally and unintentionally) biased seeding can be when people just try to go by reputation. i truly believe that bad skill seeding is worse than no skill seeding at all (for at least the latter is honest), though good skill seeding would obviously be best. the problem is that we aren't at a point where we can use truly good seeding, though - if communities are serious about this, they will need to develop their own ranking-point system. and furthermore, even with such a system, you still can't half-ass the player distribution part of it; even evo has had issues with this in the past when using evo points, putting 4 seeded players in some pools and 1 or none in others.

really i think this is where a lot of the issues lie: people trying to do skill seeding without the knowledge to pull it off well. there aren't any good options here...either you create really unbalanced pools trying on your own, or you listen to top player opinions in making brackets and potentially screw people over in a different way (and get accused of rigging after the fact!). i think if nothing else, we at least need to agree on proper definitions of "Majors" & "Regionals" so we can objectively seed the top 2 players in each pool without too much trouble. until then, this isn't going to go away.

You have really grown on me...your passion and energy are seriously unmatched. The only problems at FR (imo) was sometimes you would get a little sidetracked while a match was in progress (which is human, I know), so maybe just really focus and give the players on stream their time but still maintaing your lovable personality.

Also, putting you in a pin stripe blazer would be a plus! ;)

I thought about this today and I would like a serious answer because I think it is THE fundamental problem with seeding in this community...

How do you lose your seed in our community? Seriously, once you get "seeded" in our community it seems almost impossible to lose your seed. In other sports where there is guaranteed money for all entrants seeding is very important. In ours, it is not. There are seeds given out in this community based on name value alone and not so much about their competitive achievements in this scene.

So, how exactly do you lose a seed? This is a HUUUUUUUUGE problem regarding seeding.
