What's new

We have an online mode that's better than MK9. When are we actually going to use it right?

Anyone want to set up a group for Online European Warriors? It would be nice to be able to play a game in the evening instead of having to wait till 2am.

The problem is when you get that glued to the floor feeling and j2 or j3's won't come out unless you mash it immediately after jumping...this game has really nasty lag with people who have shitty connections. I played a couple dudes who have told me they're playing on a cell phone hot spot or wirelessly on DSL. It's not IGAU's netcode, it's the "welfare internet" that's out there.
I hate when I'm playing in lag and I miss j2 when I'm trying to hit someone with grundy's reset lol. His jump is so floaty and he just kicks right over their head and then i eat a combo

Real talk post that's going to come across as dickish, but I'd rather speak my mind rather than agreeing just to look good:

Unless I'm friends or teammates with you, I don't want to play people who I think are worse than me. I don't think I'm on top yet. If I'm playing I'm doing it to learn MUs with the best and level up. I don't want to say playing a lower-level player is wasting my time but sometimes it kind of is. If I get on and have the opportunity to play a top player like Pig of the Hut or a lower level TYM poster asking for MU help like Tom Brady (jk) I'm going to pick Pig.

That might be different if I'm able to play like 4 hours a day but a lot of us aren't able to be on as much.
You should at least fight the person once. You cant know if they are worse than you if you never play them

but i do get what youre saying

I don't blame anyone for having this thought process/approach to choosing who they play.

Having said that, this is the reason I've never contacted anyone for games. I feel like I'd honestly be wasting their time. I'd love to get better, but I just assume that most of the top players would prefer to use their time more wisely and play someone on their level as opposed to playing someone who may never even be able to attend a tournament.

I find it's best to just find someone on your level and learn with them. There's no judgement and it seems more satisfying to take things from each other as you go. Throughout my entire time playing fighters online, be it MK9, Injustice, Tekken 6/Tag 2, anytime I would play someone good I'd send them a message after the match complimenting them. 1 out 20 messages I'd receive would also be positive, but it's rare in Injustice. This past weekend I got a nice message stating "that tripple trident is so gay and cheap ur a scrub bro" (I left in the spelling errors. Anyway, I don't even respond to them, as those people are not worth my time. Finding someone friendly and willing to grind it out with you can be difficult, but it's possible. This is what I've always done, but I'm also a nobody who just isn't looking to waste anyone's time.

tournaments are where you determine who is the best, thats for sure

however,
i think people are afraid to admit that that low and behold if they ever do lose online they might have gotten outpplayed by that person. Maybe they need to adapt to the matchup and get better online, maybe the person they played is very skillful

injustice has better netcode and the system is not as dependent on on frame to frame situations are mk9 was

Saying "we have an online mode that's better than MK9"

Is basically saying

"Hey! I just cooked some food, and it tastes better than old dog crap!"

The shitty thing for me is that I cant get any games from other top players. yeah, ppl put on a good front of "but but but.. no one really thinks you arent good", but the fact is that its usually the mid level players who ask me for AM exp.

Other top players dont want to play because they figure there are MANY other aquaman players who are MUCH better, and better suited to give them exp.

Maybe I do snub some of the lesser known guys sometimes when they ask for AM exp, but im tired of getting snubbed myself so I guess I take it out on mid level players sometimes. I'll be back in NY in about a day so at least I dont have to deal with online snob top players who started the perception of me being that other aquaman player who is too stupid to be good with him.

NOTHING is more frustrating then not being able to get games with other players at the highest level because of stupid trolling gone wrong. Im tired of only being able to fight mid level players. Not that I mind helping them, but I want to play ppl on my level too!

i kinda disagree with the mid level player statement. Just because some people can't travel and go to these unprofessional unorganized tournaments doesn't mean they are mid level players. You can find someone pretty damn good or just as good as you asking for games. And you will ignored them because you think they are mid tier of a player just because they don't go to tournaments.

My point is the people who asked you for games on this thread who aren't "top players aka people who can travel" you completely ignored them like they aren't worth your time

No, many times im not ignoring them. and just because someone doesnt go to tournaments doesnt make them mid level. I dont think you understand someone who is good from someone who is at the highest level of play.

Yes.. I do get angry at the situation, and yes i do at times not feel like playing with someone not at the highest level because im angry and frustrated at not being able to get games with other top players. The whole situation is dumb, this place has become an online High School.

Speaking of online games, if anyone...top player, mid-player, bottom player wants to get games in with the most mediocre Batman and Deathstroke you've EVER seen...

add Rude_39 on PSN.

I promise you this, true believers! These will be the most average/disappointing sets you will ever play! Still, I will play on!

The netcode is better, but it doesn't mean shit if you still can't really play in it with reactions. I played Noobe online and could not block ES. Ever. No matter if I knew it was coming or not. It was unblockable, and this was before he was doing the wakeup ES tech. I've been beaten with Aquaman using b2 and having it essentially unblockable. I play vs Deathstroke and can just see how delayed everything is when I try to block then dash after gunshots. It looks like fucking pre-patch gunshots with how slow it is. Can't block Batman online. Can't aa d2 on reaction.

And low and behold, these very issues with reacting on time become a non-factor as soon as I go offline. People say "well that's just online for ya", yeah it is, and this isn't good because now I'm stuck not getting used to what I could be doing after blocking these things because I just get hit. It's dumb. I can learn some outlines for matchups, but a bunch of situations I'm not able to really prepare for simply because online prevents me from really getting accustomed to situations that would arise more frequently from simply being able to block.

This netcode is not that great, people. Stop pumping it up to be any more playable than it actually is. SFIV isn't even really good, and I can at least react mostly okay (just crouch teching is dead af and sometimes no reversals). Not everyone has low-ping connections (I'm one of those unfortunate people), nor any opportunity to have access to such. So something like IGAU's netcode is really, really pointless for me to even try in.

This thread is a big reason I stopped maining this game. I view online wins and losses as meaningless, but need the practice. I never seem to find high level players except a few on my psn FL, but I know so few.

Has anyone tried playing injustice online randoms even recently? Most are still mashing, people with 5000 matches who still aren't playing the game. The online warrior mentality of winning and a w/l being important is confusing.

I know online is terrible. I can't do a lot of stuff I want to. My punishes are never on point. I would kill to play more high level players in an environment where winning doesn't matter. I also agree with Tom Brady, even with my wired connection I still dodge pretty much anyone more than a timezone away. Somebody fight me!

thats depending on the connection, i block earth shaker consistently online and block batman and aquaman pretty well and have no problems dealing with deathstroke, you must have a lot of problems connecting to people or you just don't play enough to adjust, which is probaly a good thing because that will fuck your timing up

I shouldn't have to play long enough to actually adjust. That's what I'm trying to say. It's good for outlines, but unless you have respectable internet, which I don't, online is a bad experience.
