The Tournaments: Three will be held, in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and Mortal Kombat 9.

The Setups: If you have a system, game disc, monitor, or cables and you can bring them to the event, please do. We want to make sure we have enough set-ups for both the tournament matches as well as casuals.

The Systems: SSF4: AE and MvC3 will be held on both systems, but stream matches will be held only on XBox 360. Please be prepared to have to play matches on both systems. MK9 will be held on PS3, both on-stream and off.

The Price: Entry is $5 per tournament you enter plus a $5 venue fee. Venue fee should be paid to the front desk upon entering Galloping Ghost Arcade.

The Payout: All tournaments will pay 70/20/10 for top 3 finishers, plus a bonus $5 (for 16-31 entrants) or $10 (for 32 or more entrants) each to all top 4 finishers.

The Schedule:
3:30 pm - Venue doors open
6:30 pm - Sign-up starts for all tournaments
8:00 pm - SSF4 tournament begins
8:45 pm - MvC3 tournament begins
9:30 pm - MK9 tournament begins

Early Sign-up: If you do not think that you will be able to make it to the venue on time or you would just prefer to have your name entered early, please notify the tournament organizer ahead of time (see below) so you will be entered into the bracket.

The Volunteers: We will need volunteers to help out with the duties of collecting money, taking sign-ups, and running brackets. Please contact the tournament organizer (see below) if you are willing to volunteer. Take note that if you are entered into a tournament, you will not be permitted to run the bracket for that tournament unless there is another volunteer--possibly also entered into the same tournament--available to assist you.

The Rules: All tournaments are double elimination. Matches are best 2 out of 3 games format. After a game, the losing player may change his character(s). The winning player play may not change his character(s), though he may change his Ultra (in SSF4) or his assists (in MvC3). Grand finals will be best 3 out of 5 games. In Mortal Kombat, all DLC characters (Skarlett, Kenshi, Rain, and Freddy) are allowed. Kratos and all DLC costumes are banned. PS3 Dualshock Wireless controllers are permitted only with a connecting cord and with the understanding that they must remain off when they are not being used. If any irregularities or disputes occur, the players involved should attempt to resolve them among themselves. If they cannot, only then may it be referred to the tournament organizer.

I always wanted to go and level up, and get some practice in. Though, I live in Glenview, and have no car ATM, nor do I know anyone that lives by here that I can catch a ride with.

However, I'm trying to figure out a plan with my buddy to show up at Chicago Heart 3, is MK going to be there BTW?

I'd be down if I had a PS3 PDP to use. I'm ordering the converter soon, then I plan on coming to as many get togethers/ tourneys as I can.

Just a minor addendum. We may be using a few 360 setups as well as PS3 setups since there may not be enough PS3s with enough MK9 data (ALL DLC including Freddy)

Of course if you guys have PS3s or so with MK9 data please let me or Curly know and we'll try to get them set up for tournament time so we aren't lagging behind and actually running the tournament at lightspeed!

ONLY KOMBAT KODES ALLOWED ARE ZOMBIE KOMBAT AND NO BLOOD KODE (666 666/900 900)

I don't want to see half health or psycho kombat.

Fatalities are encouraged on stream though so don't feel pressed to use kombat kodes if you wanna kill em in style (or be killed in style)

Funny you mention that. My first match at Evo we do a button check, both of us give the ok, I select my character and put my head down. Trying to get rid of any last second nerves. I look up and my opponent has turned on Half Health. oh:

Two more important pieces of information relating to Wednesdays tournament, so be sure to read:

1) We are pleased to announce that we will be holding a raffle at some point during the tournament for people who bring setups to the event. Prizes on offer will include a MAS stick case with buttons, Galloping Ghost Arcade gear, and more. The only way to be entered into the raffle is to bring equipment or help with the running of the event (see volunteers below). You will earn one (1) raffle ticket for brining a monitor or for bringing a game system with at least one of the tournament games. People who run brackets successfully will also get at least one ticket. So again, please bring set-ups to GGA on Wednesday. And if you have anything you would like to donate to the raffle, please contact one of the tournament organizers (see the first post).

2) Due to being even more broken than expected, Freddy Krueger will be banned for the tournament.

yep its gonna be there!! last night i made it in top 6!! I was happy!

hope to see u soon after u get the converter! there was a huge turnout last night! a bunch of different people than there was for last tourney. that means the next one should b even bigger!
