Ppl talk about REO reviewing the Mileena vs Kung Lao matchup, what about PL on the matchup against Mileena? He was nearly either eliminated or knocked back to losers by the Mileena player Jim with a pixel of dmg left. And REOs Mileena gave him a huge run for his money.

I think this tourney was really great for how it spotlighted some somewhat overlooked and underrated chars like Mil, Kit, Shang and even Lk. Wish we couldve seen more Scorps and Jadeès but those two do take work and are high risk.

I missed the tournament unfortunately, i hope someone upload the matches at some point. But i'm hearing that it was an awesome show, i'm really happy with it then, i hope MK scene rises stronger than ever after this evo.

Props to everyone who supported this game.

By the way, i heard that some people were shouting "MK sucks" when it was about to start, if that is true, i'm extremely dissapointed with this kind of behavior from players of others communities.

That's expected nowadays from the other communities, but it's not all of them it's really the minority hating on MK. BTW, it was the MK fans chanting "Mortal Kombat!" and then the other guys were chanting "sucks" so the intention was there to squash the hype of MK but they were unsuccessful.

He did fantastic, and I was rooting for him, but I'm certainly not going to read through all this "wah KL is broken" bullshit when it's not true. Both players, hell anybody in the top 16 deserve nothing but respect

Nobody it just sounded from the way you posted that's what you implied I'm sorry if you didn't. But you said he didn't punish a single blocked spin when he clearly punished many. He didn't take advantage of every single mistake which can be applied to anyone including PL. After PL won I saw maybe 2-3 posts with people a bit angry KL won? Either way most people here have been congratulating PL on his win and saying how he deserved hit. I don't agree with the 8:2 match up myself either but I think both players played equally well with just PL just coming out on top in the end. REO still reset it after all. But yeh everyone that played deserves props and in the end everyone won because MK9 made a great showing and we got an amazing top 8 and final.

Only stupid shit I've seen is Check's comment but I doubt he fully meant it.

If it hasn't ben said yet, i really liked the commentary, David always very informative and on point with the occasional jokes. And Aris, very glad he commentated, really knows his stuff and is funny as hell. Hope to see Aris sticking with MK and Smoke and looking forward to see him play TTT2.

PL just played better in the finals set, but, Reo put a hell of fight, and, maybe if they play next time in next Evo, maybe Reo could win ....... but both came with their A game and tried to do their best , PL was the best player today, so, he deserves congratulations. Reo will come back stronger.

Yea Ultradavid always great on the Mike but Aris was surprsingly super pleasant and helped hype the game. Nice.

I'm just saying that if he'd been a known anything else player since day 1, REO would have that belt now.

By underrated I meant more a lil lacking in popularity as tourney featured. I do agree with the Sektor thing tho, and some Sektors--esp Sektroll--repped him well.

On another note, not to take away from his performance obviously but anyway think that REO underutilised Mileenas low starter? b3 I believe it is, usually komboed into ball.

EDIT: Loot reminded me of Jax and his famous representation at the hands of Tyrantrave against Online Tony.

@Rev0lver, i haven't heard gamerblake on mic before, people do say he is a hypemachine...
Anyway, maybe Tom wasn't really feeling like commentating, and to be honest as informative and insightfull as tom does his comm Aris just creates that atmosphere. Also Aris and David know eachother, so Tom and David might come off as awkward i think.

EVO is a professional tourney with LOADS of people and viewers and people like Markman, David, Chen, Skisonic, are familiar faces, people know what to expect, so they were a given to be the commentators.

I disagree completely, brady knows a lot about MK, but he always sounds so depressed and is a little to on point with his commentary and play by plays. You have to have a nice mix of knowledge, humor, and hype to be a good commentator, brady just calls everything like he sees it, or gives all the players backhanded compliments.

PL just flat out won, that's it. REO had opportunities to win and he didn't. It really is that simple and the top 8 and the hype was nothing short of perfect, it's exactly what the MK community needed. Hopefully it's featured so next year I can go to my 3rd Evo

I respect Tom but I completely agree. Aris and Ultradavid provided the best commentary we've seen all weekend.

I think somebody brought liquor and Mr. Wizard said that isn't allowed...could be completely false ofcourse.
As for the salt and Chris G, don't know thought it was a random moment...wasn't that online Tony that hold that salt and didn't he lose to Chris?

Congratz to PL for winning and to all of the top 8 for giving us great fights. This was one of the hypest finals I have seen. The amazing matches and crowd cheering had me wishing I was there in person to experience it all.

If going by the stream chat they definitely opened quite a few eyes to mk. Hope more will become apart of our community.

One of the best things tho about Evo 2011 being over for MK...we can finally delve into the viability of the dlc chars! Cant wait to see what some high level player can do with skarlet for example!
