EVO 2011 MK STREAM

If you get there for free, you shouldn't get anything extra. That's all I'm saying. Him sharing his money is as ridiculous as PL sharing his. And Mileena vs KL is far from 2-8, where are you getting such an insane number from?

Bottom line, REO did not take adv of every single mistake. He didn't punish a single blocked spin. He also didn't make many attempts to block low hats either and make him do the overhead. PL got in his head and just moved in in the 2nd set, simple as that
Were you watching the same stream as everyone else? He punished spin with roll plenty of times and when he didn't do that he normally got a throw which is better than nothingg. Were's this random dum critique coming from? Your making it sound like REO got bodied, he still reset the set and put on a brilliant fight. I remember PL destroying him with the 24 low hat string in ONE round.

Sure he probably should have blocked mid I guess but all other times he reacted well. REO didn't take advantage off of every mistake? Jeez same thing could easily be said about PL and every other player. Bottom line - it was a great top 8 and amazing final.

Wow, Check really has no class. What a douche. I lost all respect for him.
Seriously dude. We don't need people like that in the MK kommunity. We celebrate all players in their accomplishments.

Good stuff from the MK kommunity at Evo representing over 500 players!

And good job to the top 8, representing a diverse cast of viable characters, showing that even Mileena, a character everyone at the beginning crapped on, can get to the Grand Finals. That my friend is a great accomplishment and REO should be praised for that. PL with his KL showed that he has the ability and the talent to win a victory over probably the best up and coming player in MK history.

MK 4 Life.

MK is kinda dope
I watched every single match and he did not take adv of every mistake. In HIS opinion, it's 8-2. And just because he's the best mileena, doesn't mean it's automatically 8-2 cause he says so. KL has no bad matchups, but doesn't beat ANYBODY in this game 8-2 and I'm sure you don't believe that either. PL just outplayed him, has nothing to do w/"broken" KL. Mileena has plenty of things that other chars would kill for

Btw, the self proclaimed "King of Combos" is a little salty ass scrub. Please go tell him to shut his 5 year old mouth.

Who's he referring to?

Also...congrats to PL, who without a doubts is the best kung lao right now, though i don't think the better player won, i do have to give credit were credit is due. As for Reo, he did the unthinkable, everyone expected a kung lao mirror finals, or a lao raiden finals or even a lao cyrax final and he went up there with an underrated chracter and played his ass off.

Congrats to Reo, and don't share that prize money lol.

Oh and PL, dude got no swag whatsoever lol, man if you gon show you got a belt you gotta do it with swag son lol.

HAHA! Great tourney!
MK dead after EVO huh? Right now I doubt it. The crowd was soooo hyped! Well, except for that one dude sleeping. Did he ever wake up?

2 : 8 is farfetched. This final showed it - they were even, the fights were very even and the fact that he chose a very rusty Cyrax was the decisive factor. I agree that REO did not capitalize on some of the advantages he had on blocked spins and the low hat hit almost every time but it was still a very even final. Congratz to both of them and to Jop for showing class with Johnny. Also Chris G congratz on 4th. Very good Evo

Whatever you think of the match outcome or the issue of KL or anything else, homophobic slurs on players are a real low and say a lot about one as a person, none of it flattering.

REOs Mil beat PLs KL 3-1 for the reset. He went 0-2 after but they were close, and honestly REo had the first one had he xrayed off the juggle in the corner: it wouldve closed out the dmg and been unbreakable but oh well. Think he shoulda just gutted out with Mil but cant fault him too much for going for the cyrax gamble. Awesome grand finals like already said and PL just has a nasty Kl.

PS: Check who? Seriously who? Oh that random combo dude who hates on TylerLantern? Having nerve to hate on sum1 that innovated a char to 2nd place at Evo? hmmm

Idk what REO did to him but based on what i hear Check already seems like a lame person and that tweet just wreaks of loser.

Who said or implied he got bodied? Show me, I'd like to see it. What I said, again, was that he got out played. He did fantastic, and I was rooting for him, but I'm certainly not going to read through all this "wah KL is broken" bullshit when it's not true. Both players, hell anybody in the top 16 deserve nothing but respect

I'm extremely happy that top 8 truly delivered, Denzell unfortunately didn't do great, he was however playing very good with Sub on saturday, wonder why he switched.
So yeah, after seeing MK on the big screen at such a high level, even if you don't understand the game, there was no doubt it looked good. Maybe even give an incentive for other players to pick up MK now.

.... they mostly come at night. Mostly.
Reo is a pretty smart and inteligent player, I'm sure he will review the final videos, and so, will work hard to fix somethings in his gameplay, if he decides to use Mileena again in future. Probably , he will do a lot of training against KL players, and, improve even better his gameplay with Mileena. Reo is one of the best, and so, he can win next time. Very respect for REO.

Sindel says hi. If it's not that bad it's close enough. Either way, it's horrible.

We'll be sure to have some closeted MK players in the Capcom community after that top 8. That's what I mostly got out of this whole thing.

Nobody said he took advantage of EVERY mistake.

You on the other hand said he didn't punish a single blocked spin, which in fact he did.

Doubt it, he was taking cues from Chris G against REO...you know cause he delayed his wakeup? *sigh*

/lame joke.

a final that could not have been any better. absloutely amazing in every way and this would no doubt be good for mk's future. everything was perfect from the crowd chanting at the start, some of the best mk matches i have ever seen, the crowds reaction to these matches, the commentary, the comebacks, the winning moment where we all felt for reo but we were also happy for pl and the moment where hector sanchez comes on stage and thanks us before presenting pl with a mk champion belt. this was really unforgettable for us mk fans and especially those who want nothing but success for mk in the competitive community scene.

things like this make a grown man cry *sniffle* *sniffle*

Anyway, I think we can say mission accomplished.

More than 55'000 viewers were super hyped for the top 8. And I'm sure any non-MK player watching that didn't took the game seriously might take it seriously now. Fortunately we didn't see too much glitches that could've given MK a bad image.

I missed the tournament unfortunately, i hope someone upload the matches at some point. But i'm hearing that it was an awesome show, i'm really happy with it then, i hope MK scene rises stronger than ever after this evo.

Props to everyone who supported this game.

By the way, i heard that some people were shouting "MK sucks" when it was about to start, if that is true, i'm extremely dissapointed with this kind of behavior from players of others communities.

Yeah, no one takes advantage of every mistake, every match, every round... NO ONE! He was playing in the Grand Finals at the biggest MK tournament in the history of time, in a bad match-up for his character, against one of the best MK9 players in the world. If no one ever made a mistake, the tier list match-up data would always be the outcome.

The character doesn't make the player, the player makes the character.

I love SF3 as much as the next guy, but they need to wrap this up, there already behind scheduel by like an hour.
Doing a 2/3 round robin is going to take too much time, especially since this is honestly nothing more then a glorified ad.

Congrats to PL for doing what it took to get that title, though. He's the one who's got to live with himself when all is said and done, not me.
Live with himself?

What are you even talking about? PL has been a known Kung player since day 1, so I dunno what your point is. You're acting like picking KL is an instant win.
