How in the Hell do you connect to someone on your friends list on KI?

Get a hold of your router configurations

Set port forwarding to 3544 UDP type.

This isn't an issue with Killer Instinct, or XBL. I had the same problem.

A) It's a bit crap.
B) If I recall correctly, you add them to your party, and only them I think, then under the Xbox Live tab it gives you the option to host, and the other person in your party should recieve a message saying a match has been found for the party and they can join or something?

I got it working last night with one of my friends and that's kinda how it went down?

Ya, they changed how the party system works for xbone.

A lot of people have been having problems with it.

The entire UI is a mess right now.

The ps4's isn't very good, but the Xbone is terrible.

It's just a confusing and convoluted mess, it uses the same crappy metro stuff that 360 and W8 use, but it has no guide button anymore, so you have to navigate through a bunch of blocks that all look the same.

I miss the blades from vanilla 360, they were simple and easy to use.

Depends. I hated the idea of voice commands and using the kinect, but damn it makes navigating the XB1 a dream.

Without it, it's quite irritating I think. Haven't seen the PS4 UI though, but XB1's isn't as fleshed out as the 360 or PS3, but it's early days I guess.

no issues for me, been getting invites to a party - join it - accept the KI challenge prompt - and you are good to go.
haven't hosted myself, but yeah from the design of the online feature KI is lacking.
but i read somewhere that this will change and a more complete online mode will be available in the future ... fingers crossed.

I think you have to be in party with the person and one person then has to host then invite the other. Pretty convoluted

Are you doing it now or was this issue earlier? Earlier today Xbox Live was down for maintenance.

For me when i play against my friend, you first have to host a party using the xbox snap thing. Once you have that person in the party, you just go to the KI screen and just host a private lobby. Whoever is in your party will automatically be invited and you don't have to send an invite i believe. Well this is what it has been for me. I just invite my friend to party via snap and when i host, he automatically gets invited to my lobby. Weird, idk what to do if you have multiple people in your party :/

For me I hate joining parties,there's nothing more annoying than hearing 7 dudes constantly yapping when I'm trying to play . I wear headphones because my asus had no speakers

Yeah this is total bullshit and I can't believe nobody has been talking about this. Not being able to invite friends to an exhibition match is retarded.

Also I'm not one to complain about change normally but the Xbox One's interface is bad imo. Everything I used to do just takes longer and is harder in general, even something as simple as inviting a friend just seems worse. It does have some nice features that the old systems don't have but all the basic functionality doesn't seem as basic anymore. I still haven't even found out how to look at a recent players list.

For most people myself included you invite who you want to play to the party and only them and don't do this while already in exhibition match, you must do it before you go into exhibition match
and then when you go into exhibition match go to host/invite it automatically adds them to the game....Well it supposed to/usually does.
