What's new

So. Who here cosplays?

"More deadly than the dawn"
Currently making a Human Sektor costume, with mask/balaclava:

It's not finished yet, still got bits to do, but here's what I got so far :)

(sorry about the shitty phone camera.)

Nope, but I have thought as going as H.U.N.K.

I already got a gas mask though it's not the type he used. Psycho Mantis on the other hand....

SquirtMcGirt

Purple balls covering the screen
Here is me drinking in my Friday the 13th pt 4 costume. The mask is cast from the same mold they used for the movie. The shirt should be olive green but I couldn't find a vintage big mack work shirt in olive green my size so I had to go with forest green.

Sent from Sam Wheat in the Phantom Zone.

Resi costumes are fun, but REALLY hot! We were part of a Resi group in the summer, the heat was unbearable :') I'm the little dude with the shells on the chest :)

Do ETT!

I'm gonna make this skill gap... disappear.
So it's not cosplay per-se, but my friends and I tend to go all out for Halloween each year. Here's me a few years back as the King of all Cosmos (forgot my god damn mustache in the car...).

And here's the whole crew repping MK. Not the best costumes (I'm the Rain, made it from scratch using only purple felt lol), but we were all pretty busy that year...

Anyways, enjoy.

There's a halloween party soon here and I was thinking about going as Catwoman. Still need to grow some bewbs...and wax my body hair LOL
No seriously I'm thinking more like Nightwing. His body type suits me better than Catwoman's hahaha but I can't find good escrimas anywhere!

I'm hoping I can dress up as one of these guys for an expo next April. They're my favourite characters to use right now, so yeah. Just gotta put on some muscle so it's more believable.

I'm guessing that Ermac's costume would be disgustingly hot and I don't feel very well in anything higher than 24 degrees (Celcius, dunno what that'd be Fahrenheit), so I'll probably go with Smoke. I mean, I've got the hair for it and the gauntlets will cover up most of my tattoos. If it ends up being cold around that time of the year, I'll go as Ermac.

They love my Grayson
Just thought I'd make this thread for fun.

Who here enjoys cosplay? Whether you bought it online or made it yourself, lets see what you've done!

It's a really fun hobby, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that likes to do it and go to conventions. Lets see what you got!

I also think this would be a cool thread to post your costume progress if you're making something from scratch, I don't really wanna join any cosplay websites to post progress pics on, and I'd much rather share what I do with all you guys here on TYM anyway.

Feel free to share anything you've made in the past, or what you're working on currently :)

I suppose I'll kick it off.

Sektor (MK3)

that is excellent.

this is from halloween 2012

I have been thinking about making a Smoke one too. I have been in the process of making Kabal's mask for awhile now too, but im having a hard time with it. Hopefully I can finish Kabal and Lili Rochefort soon so I can start on making Smoke.

Oh man, I originally wanted to do Kabal. That mask would be a nightmare for someone like me who has no experience making stuff hahah :p Besides, I'd have to get a lot of liquid latex to do get the burned skin look.

That and Kabal become a S+, almost unbeatable, master-race character. So there's a little salt there as well hahahah

Yes, basically what im doing is adding pieces to this bike helmet that looks pretty similar to his in MK9. Yes, Kabal makes a lot of people salty indeed. I really like how he looks in MK9 and he's always been a top 5 fav mk character. Also, all the other Kabal cosplays I have seen were his Trilogy version.

John Grizzly

The axe that clears the forest
John Grizzly....that is 100% badass. How did you make that Bane cosplay?
The tubing was all from Home Depot (plumbing section). I bought a thinner gauge (20 feet for about 7 bucks) and I attached them with some tubing connectors (sold in the same section). I then bought a SHIT TON of glow necklaces (the ones that come with connectors to hook together) and I connected them and fed them into the tubing. I made sure to measure everything so every inch of the tubes were filled with green.

The glove or gauntlet is actually a Nike running sleeve I found. There is actually a hole in it to slide your iPod and cord in that fit my tube perfectly. There's a small see-thru plastic window on it and it worked incredibly well. I then bought some bigger glow sticks to stick where the iPod would go to make it look like it was "feeding" the Venom into my arm.

I also bought a small green translucent water bottle and fed the tubes into that, as well as put many glow sticks inside that to create the effect of the Venom being distributed through my body from there.

Everything else is somewhat easy to figure out, aside from making the tube actually look like it was coming out of the back of my head/neck. That was a pain in the ass, but I made it work some more plumbing connectors (which wasn't very comfortable) and some velcro straps.
