Basic FG Terms and how they apply to Injustice

Great info, can we get something here about fuzzy guarding? I'm still pretty confused about that term and keep hearing different definitions.
I tried to explain it as best I can, but it is kind of hard to explain. If you want to see it in action look up Chris G's match vs. Doomsday at CEO today, he blocked earth shake almost everytime by fuzzy guarding.

I agree with what you said. I didn't know some of the actual terms, but I do all of these. Just didn't know what to call it on paper lol.

can u eplain the difference between pushblock from injustice and guard cancel from kof13?
The difference of push block in Injustice and push block like mechanics from other games is the fact that in Injustice it is a universal mechanic(i.e it works the same for every character). In other games there are some key differences like for example being able to attack through it in Marvel and it working differently dfor different characters.
Absolutely no idea how it works in KOF though lol.

i kinda knew it :)
guard cancel is "pushblock" its not new and of course not unique to injustice, it is a KOF feature
There are some things to note here:

1. KOF Doesnt use the TERM "push block", which is what this thread is.
2. In KOF guard cancels have startup making it impossible to guard cancel some attacks. In Injustice it has instant startup.

LOL at Catwoman's Back3 being called a "footsie tool". I tend to think of it as the "omg im gonna hit you now!" button.

Good stuff man! I should direct the new players i keep finding online to this thread. Well the ones willing to learn anyway.

Fuzzy guarding as it works in 3D games isn't exactly the same thing in 2d games, particularly Injustice. In a 3D game like VF, it's an option select used to defend against multiple attack options from your opponent. Fuzzy guarding keeps you safe at minor negative advantage from a fast high such as a throw and a slightly slower mid. It essentially looks as if the character is ducking and then quickly standing up. If the opponent tries to counter-attack at the earliest possible time, the duck will beat the throw and the standing block will block the slower mid, nullifying both possible actions and turning the advantage over to you.

In Injustice, fuzzy guarding simply means blocking between highs and lows really fast.

Hey guys, I didn't know where exactly this question belonged so I guess I'll just leave it here.

What does U3 mean in this combo for Lex?

B13, grav pull MB, b3, ji3, U3, far mine/probe

Is it just a neutral jumping 3, or a 3 that I have to input right as I start to jump, or something else entirely?

Love, the newest scrub :)

EDIT: I think I just figured it out, It's the high uppercut thing that makes Lex look like he's a rock 'em sock 'em robot if I'm not mistaken

Could someone please explain to me exactly, in common terms, what VORTEX is. I've been hearing a lot about it, but can't seem to figure it out based off of context clues or other things that people mention...

vortex = a combo that ends in a setup that forces a guess out of series of options (high, low, left, right, throw. could be as simple as 50/50 or as complex as a mixture of all of the above i.e. cross up low,) you guess wrong and you're back in the same situation.
vortex = specific kind of reset.
good examples would be ibuki from sf4, magneto from mvc2, and killer frost.
not everybody seems to agree on the specifics of what a vortex is so this is as broad of a definition as i can think of.

A better example would be Scorpion, who better fits that definition of a vortex character. (Overhead, low, unblockable/throw, cross ups, non cross ups, and so on)

Scorpion sucks though.
