Well since neither character had changes that effected their matchup, here is my GL/NW matchup breakdown video.



I'm going to do some for Grundy/Superman/BA/Doomsday/other characters after I mess around against them after the patch. I was hoping I could do this with some other NW players, but everybody has been busy/MIA waiting for the patch.

First thing I did was check out Superman.
His F2 is avoidable at the start if you walk back(if you hold down, it will still hit you) or jump back(the 3 will no longer hit you). So by simply walking back it whiffs and you can punish with 113(gotta be quick with it, the 3 will still hit you). Same applies with F23~Breath.
Other options I've found against F23~Breath loop: Escrima B3, Flipkick MB. => Only works mid-screen.
In the corner none of that works except for jump back 2 and 113.

His F23 wasn't that devastating for NW, his lasers are.

Also, full-screen straight laser into super doesn't link anymore. It does when Superman is closer though.
f23 should not have been touched that severely

is the patch live?

can you test 2 things for me really quick?

can joker parry d1 after MB venom and how much adv approx is MB crowbar? can you throw teeth and jump? teeth and walk forward?

You can parry his D1 after MB venom, you can parry his MB Venom.
Can't tell you how much advantage MB crowbar is, but you have enough time to throw teeth and dash forward. The downside is that teeth cannot be thrown far enough.

awesome, pre patch you couldnt parry the d1 after mb venom because it was a 2f parry

so basically the only thing mb crowbar gives is a dash forward into teeth and they recover?

Safe crossup maybe? I am firing up the sexbox now. Got a couple things I want to check into myself :)

Yeah, you can dash forward and throw teeth. But that's pretty much all you can do, you cannot jump or do F3 MB if the opponent has a 6 frame wake-up.
Tested it out against Flash, you can block his wake-up in time.

So. Martian Manhunters tele is literally blocked holding both directions now. If you block it holding foward (walking) it's full combo punishable.

Nevermind, I just reset training mode and can confirm MB staff spin hits everybody. That was really weird.

The MB staff spin also hits in corner combos WAY easier. It makes 51% combos in the corner insanely easy with the potential for even higher damage now.

For instance: J2 1f1 db2(mb) nj3 11 1f1~db3 (mb) d2 (staff spin) is the easiest 51% ever. They used to slip out very easily on the mb spin...now they don't at all.
