Breaking Bad (SPOILERS!)

So what you are saying is murdering people isnt bad if you as the murderer dont think it is? Todd confirmed good guy? Hitler wasnt so bad cause he thought what he was doing was right?
What I'm saying is, even things that seem to make perfect 'sense' are solidified by popular opinion. Whether it's the masses or the wealthy and powerful few, the concept stands. Morality and law are decided entirely by us.

Who says murder is wrong? Well, a lot of people.. so it must be wrong, right? Switch the word murder with pot, and while the amount of people who think the latter is more severe then murder must be next to non-existent, the point still stands.

Just because morality and law are both decided by us doesnt make them the same. If i was in the military and i killed a man in war id feel terrible about it cause i have my morals. If you were beside me in war and you killed a man id feel bad for you cause of my morals. If you and i were just 2 dudes talking on tym and you killed a guy and stole his car id despise you.

Jaym sorry but you're so full of shit.

You're basically saying if you like Walt then you're watching the show wrong, which is false. I like Walt because he's a insane character, you never know what he's going to do. Does that make me stupid for thinking that?

And that's what we're trying to get a solid base of knowledge on. You state "I'd despise you" just by knowing what I had done. Why? Do you know me, my situation, what drove me to this point? Do you care? Are you right, wrong? Sure you've every right to feel how you wish toward me for my actions, though the initial point I was making was that such strong moral opinions have often bled their way into the law making process. So while Jim Law and Sue Moral are not the same, they are sure as hell sleeping together ;)

You are watching the show wrong if you like walt. No that doesnt make you stupid, it makes you one dimensional your tune in to see what shennanigans walt will get into next and give little regard to the actual show, and thats fine. I love joan in mad men cause she has huge tits.

Your assumptions as to why someone would like Walter are quite amusing. Pretty narrow-minded thinking on your part as well.

Thats wrong. You ever see con air? I dont hate Cameron Poe he killed a man and broke law. If you could think of a moral reason to kill a guy and steal his car then i might not despise you.

What assumption did i make? he said blatantly why he liked walter white. To me liking walter white cause hes insane and you never know what hes gonna do is pretty narrow minded.

I'm most disappointed in Walt Jr.

He watches his mom pull a knife on his dade, sees her slash at and cut him, watches as his dad tries to wrestle the blade away from her, then calls the police and says, "My DAD pulled a knife on my MOM." I know things were crazy, blah blah blah, but still. I didn't like how that went down at all. Very upset with him and his decisions.

He just found out his dad is a major meth lord and he just (to his knowledge) killed his uncle hank. That's enough to worry about him killing his mother...

No I mean your assumptions of anyone who likes Walter, calling them all one dimensional fans and the sole reason they tune in is to see what shenanigans Walter gets into next and give little regard to the rest of the show. I find those assumptions narrow-minded and amusing.

I didnt call all fans of walter white one dimensional i called that specific fan of walter white one dimensional. But its a fact a lot of breaking bad fans share his outlook on Walter White.

You can't kidnap your own daughter, firstly. No court order to determine custody.

Secondly, fuck Skyler. She saw Walt was in a weak position so she once again changed sides. Totally cool with her to kill Jesse or anyone else really but not Hank when it was between him and Walt.
I agree. Like what the fuck is her deal? Flip flopping all over the place and the fact that she firmly believed Walter would even think about killing Hank and not even giving Walter a chance to explain himself is bullshit. Fuck Skyler and fuck Walt Jr. calling the cops and saying it was Walter who pulled the knife on his mom. wtf man

Why would I need a moral reason? That's the whole point of this. Is it to satisfy popular opinion? To validate myself to someone of a potentially different moral belief simply because they and thousands of others demand it? Who are they to demand or decide anything?

You know what drives people to stick together as a flock? Survival instinct. Do you know what causes everyone to demand answers or justification to perceived wrongs committed? Survival instinct. Most are worried what would happen if certain practices and ideas became commonplace, and that is what leads to moral and legal bindings. At our core, we're all just scared of the consequences to choice.

None of us are looking for the true answer to any of these questions, though finding solid, irrefutable proof that such subjective topics have a definitive answer looks rather grim.

Why you hate a man doesn't matter, nor from what spectrum your hate is derived from. Whether for moral or legal reasons, much of your personal feeling toward any given situation is shaped by your environment. To choose whether or not what you know currently is true or not, well.. that's for you to decide for yourself.

I agree with this. But this isnt the case when talking about the show. Id say 99.9 % of Walter supporters are ignoring their own morality when it comes to their support of Walter and are simply cheering for the "badass". My biggest problem with Walt as a fictional character is he lacks any and all redeeming qualities he isnt tough or strong or brilliant or funny or charming.

Walt's 'redeeming qualities' as seen through my eyes:

- Loyalty to his family.
- Willing to make hard, often immoral or illegal decisions for a generally good cause (weighing what is good in comparison to the cost is never really something that will have a resolution, as the outcome will always be better to the person committing the act).
- Quite intelligent.
- Provides for his family by any means necessary (breaking the hidden 'survival instinct' rule I discussed).
- Relatively honest.

Those are a couple as I see it.

That's fucking stupid. I like the character, so while i'm watching the show, i'm doing it wrong? Sorry but you make no fucking sense at all.

That's not even what I said either. I said I like his character because of that, he's genuinely interesting. A normal middle aged school teacher decides to say "Fuck it" Because he got cancer, and decided to do something with his life. Like Hank said, "You're the smartest man I ever met", because of his intelligence he was able to do all of this.

Oh, wait. I'm watching the show wrong. Sorry.

No one is watching the show wrong if they like Walt. You yourself have stated you have hated walt since the beginning of the show which if anything makes you look one dimensional since your pure hatred of the character clouds your judgement and perception of everything he does. No matter what Walt does even at the beginning of the show you'd view him as an egotistical evil asshole with nothing good about him.

He is not loyal to his family if he was he wouldnt habitually lie to them and he would have put aside his pride and took the grey matter job.

Again not true otherwise he would have taken the grey matter job

Hes also very stupid giving the cooridinates leaving the book on the shitter etc etc.

This isnt true by any means necessary he would have taken the grey matter job. He blatantly said "im in the empire business" he gave no shits about his family.

Realtively honezt? Do you even watch the show? Id get carpal tunnel if i typed out his lies. You cant possibly be serious with this. He his a habitual liar of the worst kind it started in episode 1 and hasnt stopped.

That's why I said relatively. He's never completely honest about some giant things that happen in his life, we figure out why much later on. But he was always legitimate in his deals with Jesse.

This simply isnt true i hated hank at first to my disdain for both characters is what led me to stop watching the show when it first aired. My opinion of Hank has done a 180, my opinion of walt hasnt. Im not biased at all.

Edit post seems to be broken, though perhaps I should've said he had honest qualities in my post? Bit of a typing mistake on my part X_x

When has he ever even been relatively honest? He was not legitimate with his deals with jesse did we not just wat h him tell jesse mike was alive when jesse obviously knew he wasnt. He lied to jesse about brock, the list goes on and on.

See you say that...... but then you'd have a cookie cutter human who simply has no pride

sort of how you won't break on your opinion of Walt at all..... or even suggest that he's had character development..... when every single person in here says he has. So either you're just eons smarter than we ever thought...... or you yourself are seeing it as one dimensional.

That's the shitty part about opinions and beliefs, with a few factual exceptions.. it's rather subjective.
