THE AFTERMATH
We saw Sonic Fox send PerfectLegend to Losers in an explosive barn burner of a match, and then Rico Suave eliminate him in a hotly contested set seasoned with the salt of burgeoning rivalry. We also saw Pig of the Hut rise to Top 16, only to fall at the hands of two Sinestro players: PlayingToWin, whose stock continues to rise tournament by tournament, and WoundCowboy, who strode into the upper echelon of MK9 players late in the game's life, and has continued to display his talent for wringing the most out of lesser-used characters in IGAU.
ForeverKing continues to be rock-solid, and his hot hand coming off of SumerJam was still on display in Raleigh. Denzell Terry looked as poised as ever as he eliminated Bifu Insaynne, but a surging 7L with a sharp and increasingly threatening Green Arrow sent Denzell out of the tournament in Top 16.
THE ROAD AHEAD
Sunday's Top 8 is highly competitive, and stacked end to end with a very diverse array of threats. There is nowhere to hide at this point, and there are a number of factors that will help determine who comes out on top:

THE ROAD AHEAD
Sunday's Top 8 is highly competitive, and stacked end to end with a very diverse array of threats. There is nowhere to hide at this point, and there are a number of factors that will help determine who comes out on top:
- The Sinestro Corps -- While he was expected to be a dangerous character early in the game's life, Sinestro's halo has since cooled, and not every player is intimately familiar with the matchup at a top-tournament level. Matchup readiness against two very potent threats in WoundCowboy and PlayingToWin will be critically important come Finals Day.
- The X Factor -- KDZ has the experience and the determination necessary to echo his EVO victory with a win at TFC. But he has also announced that he has some special, difficult-to-block OTG tech that may play a role in the matches on Sunday. What does he have in store, and will it help to tip the games in his favor? In addition, we are seeing an evolution of Batgirl in young Sonic Fox. Will other players be ready for his highly individual, breakneck and risky playstyle?
- The King is Back -- Although he hasn't yet topped a major, many people will agree that ForeverKing is one of the scariest players in the game at times; he seems to fear no one, and he has knocked off some very big names in prior tournaments. Does he have what it takes to dominate tomorrow?
- Dictators Among Us -- Rico Suave is known for keeping a level head, making excellent use of all of the game's mechanics, and making key mid-set adapdations to counter his opponents. But starting off in Losers tomorrow gives him less breathing room, and he will need to be flawless in order to reach the top spot. And Rico and KDZ are in an ever-evolving battle for supremacy.
- The Little Arrow That Could -- 7L was able to keep his cool today and overcome his tendency to incur nervous errors that have held him back at prior tournaments. But the lights will be bright on Sunday and the pressure ratchetted up. If he can stay rock steady, he has a shot at doing some serious damage in Top 8.
- Facing Destiny -- Atlanta Kombat's Saltface is the lone remaining holdout from the spirited AK crew, who catapulted no less than 3 of their players into top 16. He has the experience to go far, and he has the competitive spirit of a a champion; can he push the humble Harley Quinn even farther than he did at CEO? Has the element of surprise worn off?
Injustice finals are Sunday at 3 PM EST, on http://twitch.tv/teamsp00ky.
See you there!
