Guaranteed Interactables From Blockstrings

As the title says, there exists some strings that give you enough advantage to chuck a interactable that cannot be avoided. In the video below the AI is set to always block and to reversal with flying uppercut. It is also a thorough list of every fast or medium speed intractable on the ground that cannot be interrupted.


I chose to do it with superman because he has a very fast 3 that probably has the greatest advantage on block, plus he can cancel it into trait beforehand to counter supers the opponent attempts. He can combo from some interactables while others can't with his super.

On some interactables you will see the reversal text pop up and on some it does not. This either means it has a gap or it does not. Because flash's reversal is 6 frames and was stuffed, the opponent DOES NOT have the option to armor with f3 or b3, because that can only be done on the 5th frame according to GGA 16 Bit.

The only universal option the opponent has is to super, which is punishable depending on the character. Backdash might be possible on some but the ground interactables are usually thrown from the side and have a huge active hitbox.

Fortunately, Superman is not the only that can do this. Here non-comprehensive is a list of power characters that have moves with huge cancel advantage. I hope you can notice the pattern.

No gadget or acrobatic characters were tested because I don't main them and don't know how their interactables work. Plus I don't know which of their strings have the most cancel advantage so I definitely need help testing them. Nevertheless, here is the list of interactables to test with power characters shown in the video.

To those wanting to test I would start with pig on mess hall since it is the fastest interactable that is also universal. Then I would go to batcave and try it with the button the right side, which is about medium speed.

I've actually been doing this a lot when I had trait on because I figured people wouldn't expect it. Never thought about it being an actually legitimate thing.

Doomsday has a great 3 so it works even better because you can always choose to do 18% unblockable or end in +10. The fact that it worked surprised me too but some moves have humongous cancel advantage for almost no reason.

this is applicable with shazam's standing 3. the cancel advantage is not as good as superman's, but he does have some guaranteed interactables off of it :)

i tested against reversal db3 flash with SHAZAM and this is what was guaranteed:

- the pig
- lagoon barrels
- insurgency electricity charge
- truck acid in the alley
- watch tower button press
- menagerie teleporter
- atlantis water walls
- hall of justice wall statue


MMH doesn't have anything that gives him a ton of cancel advantage :(

for MMH, using 2,2 makes these guaranteed:

- the pig
- insurgency electricity charge

and if you cancel off of 1,2 or 2 or f1,2 you trade with the button press interactable on watch tower

BUT if you set up meaty orbs in conjunction with interactables, it causes a lot of them to be "guaranteed" :)

I've been doing stuff like this as a mixup, thinking I was keeping opponents guessing, and usually catching them with stuff like this. Qwark would probably call what I was doing a gimmick, but now that they're inescapable? That's GDLK.
I never knew I could actually make them 100% guaranteed.
Gadget characters are guaranteed to be able to do this off of Wayne Manor's Mozart (the piano) The Pig, the Gotham Alley dumpster, and, maybe the exploding robot on Stryker's Island.

so we can finally convince even some of our top players to stop using interactables as if it were still Injustice demo day one. Interactables are win.
In the weird situation in which Cyborg's missiles are blocked, he has a TON of advantage, and may be able to land 90% of what you've done with Supes.

Damn thanks for that info. For shazam I could also get 11 and 12 to work with the pig. If we could get people's mains to test their strings this could become broken.

so we can finally convince even some of our top players to stop using interactables as if it were still Injustice demo day one. Interactables are win.
We definitively need to do this to advance interactables beyond something that op power characters chuck. Though I do wonder what the acrobatic characters have in terms of using them with block strings. The only idea I have is to cancel unsafe block strings into an interactables jump to make them safe.

NRS still has not added the ability to play with friends online or lobbies, and they patched the game 4 months late on the WiiU. Oh well what could I expect from third parties in a nintendo console. Still better than xbox and psn the only games I want there are MK, and the ones that are already on the PC.
