Is it worth starting to play this again?

It's very likely to continue being played at the tournaments featuring Injustice as a side game.

MK is not dead, not dying, isn't going to die.. It's just slowed down after 3 long years and started to settle into a quiet but respectable life of side game status. This doesn't kill a game.

It hasn't hurt Virtua fighter which is beautiful, balanced and boring as all hell to watch. Frequently featured, rarely streamed sort of thing.

VF5FS (the newest in the series) came out in 2006. Got a late life patch in 2012. The community is laid back and quiet but supportive. I'm certain MK is far from finished <3

Yeah online is real bad. Not just laggy but i went up against a guy who used some device to lag me out of the game twice because he didn't want to fight me (my win-loss is pretty good), and when I saw him going against my friend he was pulling off 35-40% combos online so probably a modded controller too. Bottom line though is that I stopped playing this game about a year ago but bought it again last month and I'm still having a blast offline with it! And its cheap too now to yeah I'd recommend buying it. :)

Dude I had this same thing happen to me today! i was in ranked and some guy picked quan chi and I knew he was using a modded controller because he did that weird ground blast to me 3 times in a row! and then i played him again and he did the same thing and i couldnt get out of it. I tried to jump uppercut, mash my controller everything that high level people do to get out of things and nothing. Im sick of cheaters in this game man. Their bad bad people.

dude i played this kano that keep doing that upward cannon ball thing and it's like dude wtf i can't do anything how am i supposed to beat this op character, then he xrayed for the win and sent me hatemail and i was sad. idk how they let characters like that be in the game when they cheat and spam and they're not even as good as i am but they still win. i know im good i can land like 20 hit combos and stuff so im basically pro.

The game is still a lot of fun. Will we see MLG/EVO with it again? Probably not, but that doesn't mean it can't be at grass roots. Hell, they still play fucking Vampire Savior at grass roots. Play what you like.

Plenty worth playing if you can find decent games, which is hard enough in itself. Though I'm not so sure what all this 'modded controller' stuff is about ^

How is being able to combo online, or simply spamming a move now considered cheating? lol

If the netcode were better, I'd still play this game as much as I do Injustice.
