Is it worth starting to play this again?

I kinda missed out on this game due to various reasons but I've been back in the FGC thanks to injustice. But I just decided to play mk again for shits and giggles and found myself having a blast. However with the community seemingly dying out I'm wondering if its worth investing any serious time improving at this game. Thoughts?

Same as what Cossner said.

I actually bought it on the PS Store not too long ago and it's just not worth it, especially how the online is.

Ill be playing both on and offline. probably slightly more online due to convenience. I think I can handle both games pretty well, especially since I'm already getting a little burned out on injustice (I know it's been 4 months but it gets grating sometimes).

True Grave

Giving The Gift Of Graves
I still play all the time, but mostly due to it being my favorite all time video game, next to Halo 3.

Suffokate

Worship Only What You Bleed
If you're having fun then buy it. I'm not sure if people still use ranked match but at least on the PS3 there are enough people in rooms that it isn't hard to find matches.

I-O!

Yeah i think I'll start playing again. Only issue today was that I only played one person who presented an actual challenge on Xbox live. But that should be remedied by playing offline locally.

Insuperable

My mom tells me I'm pretty
I generally don't really like questions like this. If you actually like a game, you wouldn't be questioning if it's worth playing. It'll also keep your fundamentals in shape for future fighting games :) (if this is your only fighting game at the moment)

Not sure why I can't edit my last post, but i'll say this much, it's still fun to me, but as far as traveling to tournaments, it's not worth it anymore thanks to huge balance gaps.

Agreed once again, i only ask because Im already invested in Injustice and wanted to see how much competitve life was left in MK9. As others have pointed out, since it's fun of course I will keep playing and I encourage others to do so as well. I worded the thread title quite poorly unfortunately, but even without this thread my decision to keep playing wouldnt have changed

If you play a top 20 character then the balance gaps aren't that big..

Especially if you're good.
