West Coast/East Coast IGAU Coverage

I'm just going to put this here, because I'm going to stop responding to people pretty soon about this topic in threads and article comments. It's laid out here, so I'll just refer people to this thread. This is just to let you know what goes on 'behind the scenes'. So here we go:

(Outside of the obvious majors)

East Coast events submitted to me for frontpage considerations by TOs, players, or fans:

-GUTS
-Bar Battles
-RG Stick Wars
-New Challengers
-Game Underground
-The Break Weekly
-Top of the Food Chain
-ReSe
-Marboro Slaughterhouse (aside from the one I missed because we weren't notified)
-Red Bank Rumble
-Mashfest
-Fenway Fight Series
and more.

A number of these I would have missed, had I not been notified that they were going on. There are guys that are literally calling me up via phone or Skype on a weekly basis to make sure I don't miss things, and I appreciate that. They come into chat, send me TYM PMs etc. and beat me up to make sure that their events are known about.

Now, West Coast events submitted to me for frontpage consideration:

-Vindication.
-The Saturday Super Arcade IGAU tournament in June

------------

I picked up WNF as a weekly article series on my own because it seemed like a great tournament with a great stream and viewer base, and I figured more people should know about it (same with NLBC). I pushed the hell out of Vindication when it happened. But there hasn't been another one yet.

Right now with WNF showing 3 matches a week, that means the most we can see to write about on any given week for West Coast IGAU is a total of 3 matches of Injustice (and that's the event I picked up to write about on my own).

Sooo: rather than whining, please take a factual look at what's going on. If you want things to be different, then make adjustments to your scene and the amount of nationwide publicizing they do about WC events. From an outsider's perspective, although the West Coast has some of my favorite players and friends, it's either A) a far less active scene or B) it's just as active and we don't know it, because one is getting the word out to me about events.

MITDJT Denzell WoundCowboy Krayzie you know I love guys, and I've always been a huge RDK|Tyrant fan as well. But if a ton of stuff is going on out there that I should know about, by all means let me know.

Personally I don't agree with front-paging random tweets at all. But I've never actually frontpaged a tweet and I can't control other people.

So in closing, I love you guys; press-wise I am in your corner. But I cannot write about what I do not know.

Spread the love :)

Arizona has a weekly stream that has literally never been propped up on the main page on the little sidebar. All the SoCal guys were here last week for a 5v5 and two singles tournies, and I don't think there was ever a point where the stream (Twitch.tv/TeamhAZmat) was ever put on the sidebar. It's fucking insulting, to say the least.

However, everyone can catch the vids here (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTIIpLpLgXlWQbp0tQUdSuoZLeN0BQrt-)

The stream will typically go live every Tuesday night, barring things like this week where everyone was just a little burned out from the previous week.

Atlanta not mentioned at all in the OP. BIAS :REO

Seriously, give me my article powers and i will make sure Atlanta/the south gets its coverage. Then you'll never hear from us again.

when do you guys have your weekly stream?

when do you guys have your weekly stream?

Usually every Tuesday, although this week was an exception. Usually starts around 8pm AZ time 'til whenever, late. It's not tournies or anything, but it's casuals featuring decent enough players and as far as I know Haz himself has contacted or tried to make people aware of it on the site and it still gets nothing. It's frustrating.

I have my internet back, so I'll be making WNF articles again.

If you guys have any requests, be sure to PM me so I can ignore them. :)

CrimsonShadow, man if only we could get the vegas scene more united, we know each other but we are going to have trouble actually getting together (especially with school coming up), but there is someone else coming out to vegas that might be able to change this :). And yeah the vegas crew knows you got much love for us and the West Coast of course.

How about some love for GGA's new weekly series? I can send results/characters used, ect...Do we submit an article already written, or just the info needed? My writing skills are mid-tier at best, but I will try if it helps promote the scene here.
