I'm just going to put this here, because I'm going to stop responding to people pretty soon about this topic in threads and article comments. It's laid out here, so I'll just refer people to this thread. This is just to let you know what goes on 'behind the scenes'. So here we go:
(Outside of the obvious majors)
East Coast events submitted to me for frontpage considerations by TOs, players, or fans:
-GUTS
-Bar Battles
-RG Stick Wars
-New Challengers
-Game Underground
-The Break Weekly
-Top of the Food Chain
-ReSe
-Marboro Slaughterhouse (aside from the one I missed because we weren't notified)
-Red Bank Rumble
-Mashfest
-Fenway Fight Series
and more.
A number of these I would have missed, had I not been notified that they were going on. There are guys that are literally calling me up via phone or Skype on a weekly basis to make sure I don't miss things, and I appreciate that. They come into chat, send me TYM PMs etc. and beat me up to make sure that their events are known about.
Now, West Coast events submitted to me for frontpage consideration:
-Vindication.
-The Saturday Super Arcade IGAU tournament in June
------------
I picked up WNF as a weekly article series on my own because it seemed like a great tournament with a great stream and viewer base, and I figured more people should know about it (same with NLBC). I pushed the hell out of Vindication when it happened. But there hasn't been another one yet.
Right now with WNF showing 3 matches a week, that means the most we can see to write about on any given week for West Coast IGAU is a total of 3 matches of Injustice (and that's the event I picked up to write about on my own).
Sooo: rather than whining, please take a factual look at what's going on. If you want things to be different, then make adjustments to your scene and the amount of nationwide publicizing they do about WC events. From an outsider's perspective, although the West Coast has some of my favorite players and friends, it's either A) a far less active scene or B) it's just as active and we don't know it, because one is getting the word out to me about events.
MITDJT Denzell WoundCowboy Krayzie you know I love guys, and I've always been a huge RDK|Tyrant fan as well. But if a ton of stuff is going on out there that I should know about, by all means let me know.
Personally I don't agree with front-paging random tweets at all. But I've never actually frontpaged a tweet and I can't control other people.
So in closing, I love you guys; press-wise I am in your corner. But I cannot write about what I do not know.
Spread the love
