I'm not even a guy who plays fighting games like that, I grew up playing Mortal Kombat 1/2/3 on Sega Genesis and later onto Tekken 3 for PS1. This is the first fighting game I touched since then, because I am a Dick Grayson fanatic and avid DC comic book reader. This game is a gift to me because it includes basically all the characters I could want and I enjoy the fighting dynamics of it.

I feel like people who overplay a certain character will eventually get bored of the same stuff.
I main NW, but also 2nd and 3rd Bane and HQ. Theres more characters I want to learn(Raven, Flash, Joke, Sexy Lex), especially since I'm going to buy the Zatanna DLC.

I don't really care if the is "broken". I just enjoy for what it is and have as much fun as I can.

If you're not having fun, then it's no longer a video game for you.

I think Tekken and SF are fun to watch fighting games as well as Injustice.
Yeah that's 'lhow video games work.

Okay folks let's use an example. Let's say you're a crazy nintedno nut that loves Mario and only that and has played everyone of his game since the NES. You'll Met bored no matter how many nintedno remixes the same songs and recycles the same gameplay again and again if you were looking for a chance in Mario gameplay you would be playing Sunshine. This is just the cruse of playing only one game for too long. Besides Injustice I have played Sc5, Sc2(because of SC2 HD), and project x zone. I keep things fresh for me while trying to solid at other games.

From what I have read over the last few months... this community does not want a balanced game..

Not balanced as far as tier list goes, but balanced as far as contrast of styles go. You have offensive characters, defensive, zoners, and characters that are in-between having above avg offense and defense but not too powerful in either area.

If you are a defensive player or a player who uses zoning as it caters to your skill set as a player, then you naturally pick zoners or defensive characters and try to slow the game down vs heavily offensive players. As an offensive player, you pick very offensive characters and want to speed the match up and get in and mix your opponent up for eternity. At high level, these styles co-exist and you get a nice in-between with a mix of offense, defense, and zoning.. This community calls that "boring" though. They want everyone to play the exact same way. dash in, yolo, and play super fast and offensive.

A game that does not cater to multiple styles, but instead only caters to one style and one skill set would be terrible. Yet, this is exactly what ppl THINK they want.

I have heard ONE MILLION offensive buff ideas for the overall system of the game. Yet, NO ONE even mentions any zoning buffs or defensive buffs. A game needs to be able to cater to all styles...
Thats bc according to most only scrubs block and run away.

What game is that?

Seriously man I've thought about going to dota and league

I was the shit at wc3 seriously
LoL is absolutely horrible. I've been playing DOTA since it came out in the WC3 engine and LoL is just a completely joke in comparison. All my opinion, obviously a lot of people love LoL.

MOBAs are really fucking fun. I play HON with my friends way more than any fighting game except SF4 now.

After taking a month off of playing Injustice and games in general I started playing it again and it feels much better and is more fun.

Plus, in experimenting with other characters besides my two mains (Aquaman,Sinestro).

Not only that, but even people online have gotten better so there is a bit more if a challenge than before I quit for a month. Either that or I am just rusty.

I still prefer MK over this game but I am going to our time into it and have fun learning as much as I can.

Hey in Guilty Gear you can not "runaway" or be a "lame turtle" why? here it is from a GG wiki:
Negative Penalty is basically a feature designed to keep gameplay interesting. While the common misconception is that it actually stops people from turtling, it really just deters players from avoiding any type of contact for a prolonged period of time. If a character consistently attempts to backdash, jump back, and air backdash (or sits in one place and does nothing... which most opponents won't allow) a warning will appear on the Tension Gauge. If the player still keeps avoiding all types of contact "Negative Penalty" will appear, and that player will lose all stored Tension.
Keep-away or run-away tactics will not incur Negative Penalty if the player is actively using some form of offense. Even if it's passive, it's more than enough to not get penalized. For example, if an Axl player remains full screen and tries to keep the opponent away from him using long-range attacks, he will not get penalized.
As mentioned in the above section, when Negative Penalty is incurred, Tension gain is decreased by 80% for a full 10 seconds. Don't turtle sucka!
Also if you taunt your opponent then he gets meter :D
I swear GG is the best fighting game out there <3
Sorry for offtopic though.

You think you bad? You aint bad.
It still blows my mind that "top players/testers" are complaining/getting emo about the game months after release with the SAME argument we average players argued on week one but were shut down/told by said "top players/testers" to "give the game a chance...this is a better game once u get used to the fact its not MK...once u get use to it it is actually faster, just give it time" (granted I am paraphrasing, but step up and own it)..

Alot of the community called this game BS week one, but alot of u 'top players' tell us to give it a chance (why?? To sell more guides? Were u all under contract preventing you from talkng bad of the game?) Well heres to all the hypocrits on the forum. Iinstead of saying it like it is, they would rather wait a few months so they can flood the forums with 2-3hr podcast or lengthy dissertations about how the game is flawed... you know what? I don't blame NRS for making a faulty game, I blame all of you 'top players' that were consultants on the game. You were the communities voice for this game, a chance to make the game better and to voice to NRS what the players want.

So once again, stop wasting our time with these topics of discussion..instead, 'man up' and own the fact that the problems/issues you complain about now, are the end result of a job you failed to adequately complete (testing the game).
Holy shit. This is what I've been waiting to hear. Something like this.
I've been wondering why this is such a gear game, imo, and Ed Boon can never please the community.
We always make threads to make certain characters viable and then we contradict ourselves later and said characters get put back in their place. The complaints become viruses as well as one little complain about a character gets spread across the forums and now we have nerf buff threads left and right. Its like a vortex for Ed Boon lol

When I play MK9 I feel like I have more freedom, mainly because I can cancel my dashes into moves/block. Almost every new setup/tech people find in this game has to deal with stuffing wake-ups and crossovers (I haven't played many fighting games and this might be the norm in most fighters with back to block but it's the same thing with every character, kinda boring IMO). Those are just my main gripes with this game, maybe I'll start to like it more when I get back to playing it in 2 weeks.

(most likely going to get the typical "stop complaining just because it's not MK9" response lol)

Get your guns on. Sheriff is back.
Not gonna lie...this game is super flowchart heavy. If I said I was ecstatic after having come from KoF XIII to play this I'd be lying. There is a lot of fun to be had here, but the footsies are extremely limited and held back by several of its design decisions. I agree with Pig of the Hut on one thing as well...the most exciting and least flowchart repetitive characters are the DLC ones.

Im here simply because Im a fan of DC characters and I wanted a fighting game to play with them.

I've been looking for a new fighter. Blazblue wasn't for me but hopefully GG is still a good game.
Wasn't it popular for PS2?

In my opinion Injustice Is a way better game to play and it's not as boring as Mortal Kombat to be honest. The movement speed in Injustice is way better. Mk9 movement is slower so I don't understand why people are saying Mk9 movement is faster when it is not.

Cause the screen space doesn't expand like Inj does

AK Pig Of The Hut Smite is also one you might like. It has a Dota-style mode (3 lanes, towers, etc) but also has a bunch of others including 5v5 arena. You have your pick of match types that last 15-30+ minutes.

One thing I like about it is that the matches are 15-30 minutes generally. Not guaranteed 45+ minutes like a typical Dota 2 match.

Though if you're looking for polish and balance, Dota 2 is the game you want. LoL and HoN are cheap knockoffs in comparison. Not to bash LoL or HoN, they're clearly very popular, just not anywhere near as polished.

This is on topic.

If you play video games professionally purely for the income then you're doing it wrong. There are only half a handful of people in the world who can do that, and a good portion of them have jobs other than playing games.
