Does that include Freddy and Skarlet? Last time I checked Skarlet had 10-0, 9-1 and 8-2 match-ups with the entire cast, and Freddy will have been available for less than a week.

I was thinking about checking with the AZ crew about heading out to this, but I'd be displeased if I went and lost to a Skarlet or Freddy for the reasons stated above.

10-0 is unwinnable when the characters are played to their full potential. Although I agree match-ups would never be over 9-1 Skarlet vs Sub is a strong 9-1. She can spam knives twice as fast as Kano and the push back makes it impossible for Sub Zero to get in.

There was a poll and the community voiced their opinions.

The result - ALL DLC characters are available for tournament play.

Kratos is still banned.

Time to see what the DLC chars can do! =)

Kunais are getting a nerf, remember? Also Sub is soon to join the 9239023 other characters who can blow through projectiles.

I voted in the poll against the use of DLC characters. Just because the community wants it doesn't mean it's the right choice. If the finals end up Skartlet/Skarlet spamming projectiles, I don't think anyone would be happy about it. Not saying it's going to happen, just that the community is not always the best place to listen to opinions in this respect.

Yeah, she's getting nerfed... but is that happening before this tournament? Also, I'd love for Sub-Zero to burn meter on an EX Slide just to go through a projectile. It inflicts minimal damage and doesn't allow Sub to follow up with anything.

I would say today's MK community is fairly new(strictly MK9) and to assume every single DLC match up this early is quite presumptuous.

You had top players like Tom Brady and Krayziebone test the game and they couldn't even find all the issues with their time on it.

With the community poll, you have players interested to know how the DLC fair/unfair vs the cast. If there are any blowouts/broken findings, then at least there's some legitimacy to write up new rules(bans) to balance future events.

I appreciate your insight Dr.Dogg, sounds like you have some time with the game to know things we don't.

Let's see if the community can deal with it or not =)

We only had 5 days total to test in Chicago, and two of them were spent learning how to even play it. We found TONS of stuff though and NRS did a fantastic job fixing the problems before release.

My intentions wasn't to say the testers did a poor job or couldn't find enough bugs, and I'm sure NRS did a fantastic job working with them.

What I meant was, there may be some options overlooked in dealing with the presumed OP chars before tournament play.

So keeping it old school with real results helps shut down all theories and panic attacks.

We already know she's broken.


You guys can obviously do whatever you like with the tournaments rules. I'm just trying to determine if it's worth it to make the trip to Vegas. Right now, it doesn't seem that way. Not trying to force your hand or anything, but I'd rather not be part of the experiment when I already know the character is broken.

Who knows what we'll find with Freddy.

Soooo just to confirm....will Freddy be banned until the patch comes out to fix random projectiles going through him??
