What's new

Getting an Xbox One just for KI pointless?

I struggle with Capcom fighters, I can't do combos to save my life. Though the new KI really has my interest but I've always been opposed to the Xbox in general, do you guys think KI makes a Xbone worth it? I heard KI has a similar engine to SF which is why I ask....

Wish I Could Pull Off Combos With Oni Crew Checking In :(

KI isn't from Capcom. I don't much care for KI but if Dead Rising 3 is as good as the previous 2 I'm gonna be owning an XboxOne soon. (Dead Rising is like my favorite franchise to come out of this generation!)

I know, but I heard KI's engine was similar to Street Fighter which I suck at....

Well if youre worried about the combo system apparently it's fairly easy and not a bunch of bs one frame links like Street Fighter.

I never played the old KI's but obviously this ones going to be vastly different, I dont understand there references to linkers and counters and shit, we have none of that with NRS/Midway which I grew up on.

He's probably played the game more than anyone else I'm not sure if he explains the system in this or in another one of his videos but I know he goes into it.

Well if I do end up getting it I'll definitely need to learn stick since I can't stand the controller, but based on the news for it I feel like I'd main Sabrewulf or Chief Thunder....:coffee:

Well buying any system for just one game is dumb. But keep in mind most of the good PS3 games announced thus far are NOT system exclusives. So there's that. Plus the promise of future Gears/Halo games (which imo are the best shooters).

KI and KIG had the easiest combos to execute. Haven't play this new one though so idk. But buying a system for one game you don't know if going to be good or not is silly

Buying a console for one game alone is never woth it in my oppinion. I am playing games since the first Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt double feature cartridge on the NES. And every console cycle since then I had to make purchasing decisions on what system to go with. Ended up with a SNES (not the Mega Drive), Went with N64 (never considered the PS1), took the PS2 (over the XBox) and bought a Dreamcast as additional system as well as a Dreamcast. Then set out PS3 and Xbox360 launches on PC and picked up a PS3 3 years after release.

The closest I came to buy a console for a game, was the Dreamcast, but it took the triple combo of Soul Calibur, Resident Eveil Code Veronica and Phantasy Star Online to convince me. I normally go by ammout of exclusives and first party support. If there is that one game I really want and it is exclusive to one console, but the competition has 5 exclusives against it that I am interessted in, I would still go for the later. Current Gen for me was a no brainer this way, you had Forza, Gears of War, Halo VS. Metal Gear Solid, Gran Tourismo, Uncharted, Resistance, Killzone, Heavy Rain, Infamous and so on...

For PS4 vs. XBO I can't really predict on the exclusives yet. The Xbox has more announces, but they haven't impressed me so far. Sony has the better track record and will carry over there well established franchises. So wait how it looks like at launch.

Grundy think you handsome!
KI will technically be almost free, only pay for the characters you want, so even if you plan on getting the whole cast 60 bucks over time is a much better deal than 60 upfront where you may never even play half the cast. Also, ill only get Xbox One if Halo 5 is up to par with Halo 1-3. I have literally spent over a decade on Halo, would like to see it not being catered to filthy casuals.
