I doubt it is considering Boon not only said Scorpion would be the only guest character, but there wouldn't be a second season pass. And there's hints regarding the next DLC character and it's heavily speculated to be Zatanna.

It makes me wonder if Boon retweeted the Sub-Zero requests (right after Scorps release) on purpose to make him look like a fan favorite. He did later say that the rest of the DLC characters would be fan requests...

With Zatanna highly being speculated to being the next DLC character, I'm now seeing people say SZ stands for "Sorceress Zatanna".

Even Mr Fantastic, Plastic Man, and Dhalsim would be amused by this amount of stretching.
