Why zoning is such a problem in injustice..

The thing is, though...people are finding it's not even the keepaway that's a problem. Supes complaints from most of the people who know better is generally f23. No dedicated keepaway character is even considered within the top 5.
Most people are complaining about supes zoning too. Also I don't know why are they complaining about f23 string and not the loop. The string is fine, is just the breath loop the problem.

Because of what f23 does. It's an 8f mid that advances REALLY far, and when hitconfirmed, leaves him at 0 with pushback. It's...really good lol. His projectile game is solid, but the problem generally comes in that the startup on the lasers, and the lasers disappear when he's hit, so there are a number of ways to deal with them. Even if you have no projectile, he can't flat out keep you away with them because of the startup.

lanterns b1 advances way more far, is low and is 9 frame but it can't be looped. Same goes with this string, if it wasn't for breath it would be just a wiff punish move, nothing more.

GL also doesn't have Supes' mobility.

To all Filthy Casuals™, do this:

1.- Go to training mode.
2.- Select whatever character is giving you issues.
3.- Select the character you play as CPU.
4.- Press start, change the CPU to Very Hard.
5.- Try to outzone it, see what it does.
6.- Take notes.

Random thoughts about randoms:

1) This is a competitive fighting game forum, even if some people refuse to admit it. It thrives in people who want to see the game evolve, who study it and who engage in the community. If you think you're a casual, and you feel offended because people tell you to level up, GTFO from here. You'll be gone in a month anyways when you're bored with the game. We'll still be here when you're not, and we won't even notice that you're gone. So please stop with that "I'm a casual". To me that means "don't even remember my name pls, everything I post does not come from knowledge, or interest in learning the game. Just random internet farts".

2) If you're little Timmy, who's Injustice is first fighting game, you made an account on TYM and you suddenly call yourself part of the community, I have bad news for you. No. Sry. Earn it. Post shit, make franz, go to offline events, organize online tournies, join a clan, whatever the fuck. But don't say "oh this community sucks", since all you use this community for is to copy some dumb strats for your character and nothing else. People like that have 0 value to the community. Community Community. Just contribute mang, in any way you can.

3) Yes, zoning in Injustice is a pain in the butt. But to be fair, it's 10x more painful online. So bitch about online, everyone loves bitching about online. Online warriors are trash, it's ok to bitch about them. Identify if the issues you're having have a root in the fact that it's online, or if there's an actual deficiency in the game mechanics.

4) Please upload an avatar. It takes 3 seconds and it'll make you a little bit less random.

5) Stop saying "the community pushes us casuals away". It's so annoying. You guys weren't planning to stay either way :/ if you were, you wouldn't be writing that kind of crap.

6) MK9 is x10000 more complicated than Injustice, so lol at the people struggling with dumb stuff.

7) Play Aquaman.
Thank you. Now can this garbage thread be closed already?

f23 is the core of complaints, but I'd contend that Supes being able to pew pew ~5% chip lasers in relative safety against a good portion of the cast, with the reward for getting in being f23 in your face, is also part of it.

For starters, the stages are the size of houston, the recovery on projectiles is absurd given the amount of ground that many characters have to cover, most characters have terrible horizontal movement that would change the fundamentals of the game if they were faster, to coincide with the large stages, the camera pans out to cover the entire stage which in tern, winds up giving zoners absurd amounts of ground to just zone the hell out of everybody (which as I play games like Street Fighter, KOF, and other games that don't pan out on the stage becomes more and more annoying), and to top it all off, all zoners have as good if not better normals and or damage output as the rushdown characters that don't have any fullscreen options.

I think I agree in some way, Injustice is all about zoning, and that just bores me to hell after some time, alot of characters like Superman do not even require thoughtful keep away game.

It eliminates characters such as Lobo, Shazam and various characters who can just be easily zoned out, and I can see for you casual players that is just a huge problem, to add IMO it makes watching Tournaments the worst, so boring to watch.

Yeah its one of those games that grows on ya after you get used to it. I love the game its my favorite fighting game now. I know you hate sinestro, but he is my main. I just dont sit there and spam fear blast and drop the rock all the time. I drop the rock on my opponents wake up and players who like to jump alot to do special moves in the air like supes and black adam. I use my fear blast on people who like to rush in on me like flash batman nightwing Etc. I have to because sinestro is not really a hand to hand player. he works best at half screen. Plus you have to work so hard with sinestro to get any damage, and his cool down after special moves is slow as hell. But dont let all these people get to you, just keep practicing and you will not be as upset with the game as you are now. Just remember you play with grundy in this game, He is like sheva in mk9 and zangief in street fighter. Slow but powerful. You have to have more than one character in this game. I say learn 3 characters in each class and you will do well. I play with everybody well but my best is still sinestro, and now zod. good luck man. to bad you play on money box, i would show you some things.
- sorry I worded it wrong but I actually have four other mains that are Green lantern, Zod, Superman, scropion and batman .. But what's your XBL gamertag maybe you can show me some anti zoning methods :D

- Thank you for finally having something useful to say

I really don't see the problem with zoning. It's low risk low reward. With Sinestro im only getting 6% per hit and 12% for a bar of meter and 1% on block or 4% MB. Boulder is 8% and incredibly unsafe. As a zoner I'm going to have to hit you A LOT more than a non zoner would when you can touch me once and confirm that to 40% and still be in on me.

The problem most people have with this game is they suck at fighting games.

Calling a keep away strategy 'zoning' just shows that most people have no idea how to play this game.

this is my only issue as a GL player, i mean i get it Grundy, Flash etc dont have projectiles (even though Grundy has swamp hands) but they have multiple tools to get in and GL has nothing, turbine is slow, easy to get hit out of, and easy to punish plus he has the worst walk/dash speed in the game. so when someone decides to fullscreen spam projectiles zone im screwed, its gonna take me a while to get in (unless they screw it up) and they probably win by time -__-
I think GL is one of the hardest characters to zone.
