I don't get it...why do so many people want to see VxG fail? They flew people out who won various tournaments over the last few months and even went the extra mile to get Shang Tsung himself to come down.

To me they seem like one of the most genuine tournament crews out there...

Johnny Tsunami's father (Shang Tsung) is confirmed to be MIA from VxG. He will not be of attendance.

Also, there seems to be about 30 entrants for MK and (probably wrong) apparently about 5 entrants for Tekken and Persona.

WTF is this, Shang Tsung is not there?

How is there 30 entrants I remember the VxG twitter saying MK has like 100+!

This is the best thing to happen to the TYM community so far.

Finally there is a villain that everyone can align against. No longer are we divided in our hate of character X, Y or Z, but instead are united in our hate of VXG.

But really, I doubt people want it to fail so much as people like watching a train wreck.

Well, this is getting into evolutionary psychology, but my personal stance is that it was a big part of why we ended up as successful as we have as a species. When watching morbid events, we get the benefit of learning from a safe distance, it gives us the possibility of adjusting our actions in order to avoid such an event in our own lives. Basically it's part of how we learned to survive in the world.

Today, when watching things like VxG we obviously don't have survival at heart, but I think the same morbid curiosity is what in general propels us to watch such events transpire.
