How's my volume?
I'm sure most of you know this by now, and are frustrated by it, but in case you didn't know, if you have Skarlet or the UMK3 skins, and your opponent doesn't, and also did not get the compatibility pack, you cannot use Skarlet or those particular costumes against them online. This made me (and others) question why the compatibility patch wasn't mandatory so we wouldn't have to go through this. Well, I sent a message to Paulo Garcia yesterday (known as "colt" here) asking him to convince the team to make the patch mandatory. Well it turns out, of course, that it isn't quite that simple. He wants to, but it's not in the team's hands at the moment.
Here is his exact response, and by the way, thanks very much for the response:

So you heard the man, we've got to let them know, but please, try not to be rude about it. Messages, letters, twitter, heck even a facebook page dedicated to this would help out.colt said:Not solely a MK team decision or at all. It isn't that big of a deal on PS3 but for Xbox more has to be done with MS. There are a lot of Xboxs out there (arcade units, core consoles, & ones with just bad or full small harddrives) where making the comp packs mandatory would make them not be able to play online at all. Just with the first 4 dlc characters we are making it would make the game now require a few hundred megs off free harddrive space.
It's been brought up multiple times by me and others that the majority shouldn't be inconvenienced by a minority of users.
Your best bet would be to make yourselves heard by writing in the WB and MS.
