Scarlet d,f 1 glitch I found tonight.

If you do d,f + 1 on the ground and then dash cancel the first knife/blade, as long as you're holding a direction toward or back, you can't block. This also includes dash canceling and then just straight walking toward or back.

This is kinda important.

This isn't anything related to Skarlet and looks to be the case for anything that can be dash cancelled out of. Won't be a fix coming for this soon as this will have to be resolved in a code side patch.

You will have to adjust your gameplay accordingly and be aware of it to go neutral for a tick if you want to standing block.

The "glitch" doesn't necessarily hurt Skarlet as much as it hurts Stryker (gun shot cancel) and Jax (ground pound cancel) who are usually considered to be the game's weaker characters. If Stryker were able to cancel into block from the gun shot cancel, he would be an overall better character offensively and defensively.

As far as Skarlet goes, the best thing to do now is d+3 and block. So, you do d,f+1*,backdash, d+3, and block, and you hope you recover in time.

holding forward or backwards after the dash cancel between the two knives you can not block at all. just like when you soul steal with shang and hold any direction you will not morph back.

Like I already replied in here, what he is describing is a glitch (once you are in the walk cycle you should be able to block).

This can be moved to the glitch forums and laid to rest there.

I totally get that you can't block DURING the dash. But while I'm walking seems to be a bit ridiculous.

Let's say I'm using Sub and I fake an ice shot as bait or whatever, just trying to kill time. I dash forward, THEN I hold back to try make space or whatever. If a projectile comes at me, I can't block it.

Another one, if I back 2 dash forward with Sub then jump OVER the opponent to try to bait wakeup or a limb, I can't block.

My mistake then. Let me confirm it to see if it is on HOW you are dashing. Dash cancels work in many (weird) ways. I'll post findings later tomorrow.

I guess its a glitch in the sense that holding down the direction doesn't let u block even after the dash is finished, so it needs fixing. But u don't really tend to hold a direction in MK, not after a dash anyway, so an immediate fix isn't necessary imo.

And as much as i'd love for her to be able to block from the df1 dash cancel, it's not gonna happen anytime soon and i don't think it should happen.

Confirmed the details are true EXCEPT on a backdash. On a backjump into backwalk or a dash/forwardjump into forward walk, you cannot block.

If this is a glitch, it's not getting fixed soon. Impact on gameplay is negligible and NRS has more important issues to address.

i have no idea this was a glitch and like dave said characters like jax and stryker are weaker because after they dash cancel they can not block i can not wait for this patch to come out and fix this

the not blocking when walking after a cancel is a glitch, the not being able to block immediately as you dash cancel isnt a glitch. thats what i meant whine i said this.
