I don't wanna be a Debbie Downer and Raiden looks awesome and all, but talk about an anticlimactic reveal.

I'm happy to see Raiden but it was so obvious. I wanted to be shocked (pun absolutely not intended) and caught of guard but I wasn't... at all. I'm bummed that one character is all we get. Is that it? No more reveals for EVO?

There'll be more than one character revealed at comic-con which is only two weeks away(And ill be there to see it in person)

MKX looks like the only Fighting game i've seen so far (based solely on speculation) where Balance may not be an issue. MU won't be so lop sided, and Fundamentals will play a huge factor in this game. Every game has a eandom factor to it, but i think collectively MKX looks to be very promising and Can't wait to grind it out with all the EC players in Jersey and NYC as well as online (hopefully) to Get as good as possible in this game and have fun.

On a serious note raiden looks cool, will play him regardless of whether he smells broken or not, but i will reserve my time to sniff out a broken character.

Idk about you guys but I'm not really digging this whole variation thing. To me it seems half assed as characters are just split three ways keeping only the base strings and one or two specials. For example:
Mmh I'm mkx would always have his normal teleport and trait. But I'm one variations he's have orbs. In another meteor and pillars and in the third the low grab and oh tele..
Feels like a gimmick marketing tactic

His displacer variation looks incredible. He kinda plays like Jin Kazama from SFxTK actually. Those lightning traps really get the blood flowing in my peenus.

I'm calling it now,there is no way in hell raiden it's going to be low tier in this game. All three of his variations look really good and useful.

Holy shit...lol Raiden is Godlike in this game! Anyone else thinking he'll be like MK DC good if not better? I can see it now, lightning traps+teleportation zoning=going to be annoying as hell to deal with lol. IF they allow that...if he has a teleport even just one, with the lightning set ups hahahaha all I have to say to that

hmm not necessarily. new specials might open up new options for the same normals. variations might be played very differently even though just a few Specials are changed

Torpedo and lightning grab (df2 in mk9) seem to be universal moves

Glad they're actually incorportating what the actual character is instead of them fighting with some specials thrown in, these characters feel like what they are.

So things I noticed:

-He has regular teleport, and a forward teleport that still leaves him in front, Ares-style.
-But it also seems like he has a MB teleport, which doesn't instantly make him reappear -- so he stays off the screen for a bit and then comes back; maybe he has a window to choose when he reappears?
-He seems to have some kind of charged repel or parry move in Stormlord form.
-He has good range on his X-ray; maybe not as crazy as Sub Zero in MK9, but if it starts up as fast as it looks it should be useful.
-He gets hit with a Kratos-esque stun parry around 45 seconds.
-He teleports mid-combo in Thunder-god stance -- so maybe that's just a special part of the string?

his mb teleport is most likely like zatannas where he can decide where he wants to appear infront of his opponent/behind or like far away from him

Raiden looks really badass. I love his thunder traps variation the most. His Fatality & X-ray are way better than mk9 IMO.
