I'm a failed intellectual--I do all of the research on combos, frame data, matchups, etc. and when it comes down to actual execution I either completely botch my inputs or suffer brain-lock trying to think of what to do next instead of reacting/acting.
I was never great at fighting games but at this point I'm probably "gettin' too old for this shit" and just can't keep up.
At least it's still fun...
