Question - Summoner What improvements would you like to see with summoner for kp2?

I'm just looking to level up, ya feel?
Quan Chi has everything he needs in all variations. Great unblockable mixups in one variation, great chip/armor in another, and a reversal and a vortex in the other. Not to mention the other variation's vortexes aswell.

I'm a sorcerer/warlock player and you shouldn't use warlock for the vortex in my opinion. I see it as a waste of meter. Why spend meter for a vortex when you can get a vortex from a trance meterless? I use warlock for the armoured reversal and the anti-zoning properties. I use it in matchups where I feel a reversal is much more important then having armour and chip spells in sorcerer. For example tanya will destroy any armour because of her fast 2 hitting normals and you wont be able to interupt her wreckers with sorcerer. With warlock you have an armoured reversal which grants a full combo. Using meter for the vortex is a waste when you can use it for armoured reversals.

Sky drop. Useless move that gets hit out going in the portal and gets hit out on the way down. Its way worse than MK9's, at least i could land in front or behind in nine.

And the nerfs/corrections @Rude made on page two.

On second thought. Taking Sky Drop out of the game would be a plus too. I sometimes accidentally use it when I am using the 14 ~ EXDB1 sorta block string.

I just picked up quan summoner cuz hunter predator isnt worth the time. Playing quan reminds me of playing cyrax + mmh all in one, so ya he forsure needs improvements ;)

Faster startup on the tele-stomp and add the ability to control where it lands, Then turn it into a variation move exclusive to warlock instead of universal (makes sense since warlock is a portal specialist)

Add an overhead-mid parry to the other two variations that can be meter burned to increase it's damage and send the opponent full screen.

Just take a moment and think about it before you rage. Quan chi's hard-to-bloackable mixups should not be grounds for his horrible defense. Demo Sonya can go more crazy than summoner and yet, not only does she has an armored reversal, she has a 2 hit meterless wakeup to get out of pressure.

it's quite insane how many magic pixel comebacks we watched happened to Quan on full health, just because he got carried to the corner against a relentless masher. If that seems fair to you then you shouldn't demand any damage nerfs, If full offense is hes only option then he pretty much needs the damage.

Reduced damage. Eliminate his hard-to-blockables, from him and from every character in the game. With 50/50s at least you have a chance to block if your reflexes are on point. Htb are stupid and broken. So, bat has to become mid.

Less adv on block with ex rune.

I also think his d3 should be a bit more negative on block than -1, considering his d1 is 6 frames. If the opponent's pokes have a startup not less than 8 frames, Quan gets a free d1 after a blocked d3. So basically a blocked d3 puts Quan in favorable situation to start his 50/50 game. Stupid.

@STB Shujinkydink you're never gonna place no matter how much they buff quan. your quan was mediocre in mk9 and while one could still attempt to blame the character then (even though it was obvious your play suffered from bad decisisonmaking, choking and bad execution in pressure situations) your mkx placings (which are like, none?) with this ridiculous character show clearly that you are just not up there. please L2P before you make these threads, thanks. i dont care if they shall look humorous, because i'm sure your intention is semi-humorous at best.

kinda nailed it. If anyone really thinks they aren't winning because of this character, they are lying to themselves. Very viable in all 3 variations.


lets just turn the bat to a mid and call it a day, Summoner still has his 50/50 and damage just no ridiculously tight block links, and the other two variations stay as they are which is just fine
