Kung Lao? Where dose he really Rank Now in the Tier List?.. Top players?

So guys, so far other chars have come into the spot light as being top tier? Where dose kung Lao really rank now.. is he more anti zoning now..?

I mean he is rubbish against low hitbox chars like mellina kitanna sonya.. Then you have sector with a 7 frame FP launcher faster D3.. then you have Cage with faster D3s better rushdown. I think his zoning is not strong enough to cause cage any really problems.

top 10 potential top 5. Spin keeps everyone in check, some of the best mobility in the game.

The potential to spin during another character's blocked string for full combo is pretty damn dirty.

Yes he has spin and great mobility but he cannot hit low hitboxes and other chars have armour on a lot of moves also his D3 is only 9 frames.. A lot out poke him with 7 frame D3s.. Also at top level not many jump in so dose spin really get that much respect and if its used to check some1 its a full punish.

How come no1 wins or even comes close to winning tournaments with him now 16bit? How can some1 rank top 5 if he can't hit low hitbox chars..?

I mean his lack of placement in tournaments cannot be down to a lack of skill in pro players it seems more like.. he just runs out of answeres to better characters.

Kung Lao is still a very good character. I agree completely with 16 Bit. He is a top 10 character and possibly top 5.

I'm going to go with 7th because he cannot do shit vs chars with a low hitbox.

I'm not a top player, but I feel that KL has never left top 5 once in all of MK9. He owns the air, he is super mobile, amazing chip and meter building, decent zoning, decent anti-zoning, spin makes everyone scared so he can do other things, f3 is a way in that most characters don't have, he has the best x-ray in the game, and an amazing armor move. That is just off the top of my head.

Spining pokes is very hard.. and if the spin whiffs your the one eating a full combo?

Dude half the top characters don't win tournaments. CD Jr wins all the damn tournies where the top guys are at. It's his fault.

Kung Lao is guaranteed top 10. The higher you go, and the more this game evolves makes Kung Lao's placement strange.

alot char have problems with low hitboxs,doesnt mean they cant touch them, just dont use moves that will whiff on low hitboxes

Lao is not top five but people that have to be on point against him to compete, otherwise a good Kung Lao kan overwhelm them.

Oh, and Sektor's jab is 6 frames, but it hits high so it'll wiff if you crouch. (ie: doesn't beat pokes) It's one frame faster than Lao's 7 frame starter but it lacks range.

Even the best players vs the worst Kung Laos have to worry about the spin. And this always gives Kung Lao his space. He's not the best, but definitely not the worst.

I don't get me wrong I'm not proclaiming he is rubbish I know he is great I just don't think top 5 I just want everyones opinion on where you would rank him exactly guys. Like I say 7th is my opinion hoping for a lot of replies on this thread.

Yea what I'm saying is trying to spin pokes is too risky basically.. you miss you get blown up. If it hits well played.

^ Agreed. He'll always be one of the best/most dangerous characters in the game.
Thankfully, he isn't delusionally broken anymore and has still managed to evolve into a well-rounded, rock-solid force.

Against someone like foxy with sonya against a pro Lao like I FK am sorry but Lao gets owned that'd what I mean by rubbish vs lowhitbox.

The low hitbox character argument is a weak one.

Tons of people have whiffing strings on low hitbox characters, no big deal for Lao.

Second of all, mileena is the only one you mentioned who actually has a low hitbox.

Lao isn't rubbish, infact I think he is still a damn good contender for top tier along side of Sonya, kabal, smoke, cage, and kenshi. If not he rules the higher end of high tier with the likes of kitana and such.
