I'm from Ohio, USA originally, hanging in AZ now. I play MK9 on the PC, though I had it for the 360 originally. I specifically purchased a PS4 for MKX (and I have zero interest in an XBO either way).
Human smoke was always fun, totally broken in UMK3 but it forced me to learn combos and mechanics that I wasn't really prior to him. So he's a patron saint of Kombat for me.
My general favorites are Raiden (I actually think what they're doing with him in the story of the reboot has a lot of potential that people aren't really seeing yet, and probably won't see until whatever comes after X... but I'll hold off on speculating for now, not enough evidence), Havik, Kabal, Sub-Zero, Frost, Fujin, Nightwolf, Kenshi .. there are very few characters I dislike though, those are just the ones I like/play the most, where applicable. (going to give a shout to the fact that I actually really liked Darrius in Deception too)
I've played 1-UMK3, skipped 4 and DA for no specific reasons, just drifted away, then got back in with Deception and lost some hope with MKA. Watched MKvsDC's story mode via youtube because I heard nothing good about it (but I liked the concept before release). Then I felt very wary of MK9 because the history of modern reboots is enormously sketchy. But after watching the first 20 min or so of story mode, I decided not to skip it this time around and have never come back. Super hyped by the reboot and all. Was also very happy with Injustice, not to leave it out though not MK related.
--- Also played Mythologies back in the day -- which is how Fujin became a favorite after I saw him in MK4 even though I didn't play it.. blah)
Very poorly. Oh ohhh, you said who.
I have tried to play every character at one point or another, but some of them just don't work for me (jax, sonya, reptile are at the top of that list, just can't get into their style), but when I just want to see if I can improve my game I generally switch through smoke, kabal, and both versions of Sub (though I prefer human) .
I am very hesitant to be hopeful for MKX characters who aren't announced yet. I'm really hopping they work at least a few MK4 characters into the game, though I will probably not be terribly disappointed if all their new characters work really well. I'm super excited by Kotal, due in no small part to the comics (get everyone one digitally, will buy the collection(s) as they are released). But I'm also very curious about D'Vorrah's motives, and what exactly Torr is. Cassie is growing on me too, despite initial hesitation. Though the idea of her existence being a result of the time-shifting just makes the lore nerd in me melt. Glad to see Ermac, Kano (yeah, seriously, I hate to fight him but love to hate him!), Raiden, and Kitana back for the returning roster. Everyone else is cool too, but of course none of my favorites listed above are confirmed save for Raiden and Sub so.. we'll see, won't we?
