Does parry actually work as a wake up? Because that would screw it up for flash a bit wouldn't it. Wasn't worrying about wake up parry a big deal for max at KIT in the bane match up? Why is flash so different?
Parry gets beaten by lows. Flash's D1 is a low. If he does his D1D2 string on knockdown, which is extremely common, you're fucked if you wake-up parry.

is deathstroke really better than batman?
Marginally, yeah.

I get blown up for this but you can all hold my boulders. #SentimentalValue

Finally, something I can agree with you on this week. You have redeemed yourself in my eyes, old man.

Great show this week, I especially enjoyed the video games in 2014 talk. Last year we got Bioshock, Last of Us and GTA5, and this year the best games are Dark Souls 2, Shadow of Mordor and Dragon Age? So disappointing.
Yeah, I actually wanted to point out that 2013 was a great year for gaming. In addition to the ones you mentioned, there was Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, which I loved. And I don't care what anyone says, GTA V is a MASSIVE Thrill.

What a day. What a lovely day.
I must say, I find the voice inflection similarities between Saucy and 16bit way too amusing lol

Really enjoyed the 2014 gaming year talk, and I agree that it's been really underwhelming. The fact that Halo is such a massive thing says a lot; the most excitement generated this year was by a game that's 10 years old. And it barely worked on release...

The money steam-roller is taking its toll on the gaming industry and culture, as companies are more and more pressured to release stuff quickly, which results in broken launches, re-hashed, formulaic games (COD, AC, Battlefield) and imo lower quality experiences. Titanfall is apparently already dead in the water, which was supposed to be this behemoth.

I feel that the market is becoming so saturated and a lot of creativity and craftsmanship is being left at the door because it's turned into a cash cow.

Also @coolwhip, GTA is godlike. However, I disagree that Skyrim is phenomenal, it's a bit of a bill.

I really enjoyed the 2014 gaming talk, over the past few years I think it's been going down hill. We're getting into a vicious cycle of where the cost of just developing a game is extremely high and very few companies are willing to take a risk so we are seeing the same shit year after year.

I feel Wolfenstein is very under appreciated this year. That is a great shooter which very smartly mixes old and new mechanics and has a great story. There's no half arsed COD clone attempt at multiplayer, no shitty throw away survival mode, no DLC screw jobs and the game worked fine day one. Yet no one talks about that game.

On the opposite side of the coin the only other new game I got this year was The Evil Within, which is just RE4 with shit gameplay (real rap right there). It's not a terrible game, but come the fuck on do something different. Within the first hour you fight a chainsaw wielding maniac in a spooky village. I think I've seen this somewhere before, it was in a better game that was released 10 bloody years ago.

However, I disagree that Skyrim is phenomenal, it's a bit of a bill.
I can't like this post enough, how a game that has truly some of the most horrendous and unsatisfying gameplay of all time be so acclaimed is ridiculous to me. First person melee combat does not have to suck complete ass.

PS: Really? Nobody's blowing up @AK L0rdoftheFLY for matter-of-factly and casually stating that "everybody loves Taylor Swift. No matter who you are"? Step your game up, regulators.
I heard a Taylor Swift song once, this girl I worked with mentioned it was in her head all day so I asked which it was, was one of the biggest mistakes in recent memory. My ears still haven't forgiven me. Fly you are crazy, there is plenty to not like about Taylor Swift.

Why didn't you like Skyrim? Also, how long did you play it?
I felt like the combat didn't have that much depth and got quite stale/samey rather quickly. I felt the story and sub-plots weren't as interesting in narrative or execution as Oblivion, and the dragons become an annoyance after I'd killed my 3rd one. The towns weren't as charming or memorable either. The presentation was a bit lackluster as well, like the menu and inventory.

It's good, but not as good as Oblivion imo. I haven't played it anywhere near as I did with Oblivion, and I feel like Oblivion is much longer?
