How did you find out about the FGC/TestYourMight?

I want Kronika to step on my face
Google searched Lex Luthor strategies. Decided to make a throw-away account on TYM under my character's name just for the time being to learn more. I stuck around longer than expected.

Gotta get around to changing this account name though...
Don't, it's great.

The spring of Mk9's launch I googled Scorpion combos.

Shortly after my entire understanding of fighting games and competitive mindset was turned upside down. I also met some of the best damn friends someone could ask for.

I give this site and the FGC a ton of well deserved shit but I owe it a lot.

Ive been a MK fan since day 1 and always played when it was released. I heard about the PDP MK9 tournament and watchedthe finals in youtube. I then saw a link for MK9 Evo2011 grand finals. During the commentary, someone said check out testyourmight. My first time on the site I learned about VSM and now I'm here

Lamest Harley, still better sloth than Jer
Lol this pretty much story as well, for a long time I couldnt hit b3 after cartwheel. I almost dropped her because I thought she was too hard to learn
For me it was getting play doctor instead of gunshot. That input is hella stupid.

I was super dumb when I joined the FGC/TYM. I thought that Harley /Aquaman was 5-5 cause air gunshots. Also thought that The Break was a major and I got tired of seeing KDZ win.

How did you find TYM though? did another online warrior tell you about it? or was it back during mk9?
I guess I learned about tym through my clan at the time and also my brother who told me I should put some of my tech on it and he bought me a capture card in hopes it would be put to good use

Here... I am a god!
It was the clan I was in back in the day that brought me to TYM, and thank god it did. This website has gotten more important to me than facebook. Sadly, I can't really go to any tourney's (yet!), living in Germany and all, but I do want to pretty bad. For MKX I'll try to attend tournaments right from the get go, where ever they might be held.

I found about MKU through the MKDC chat in the game lobbies.
Then when TYM came about, MK9 came out shortly after and that's how I got introduced to offline tournaments and scenes.

After injustice came out I was randomly looking for streams on twitch while I was grinding in Neverwinter (it was like 6 AM), and WNF comes up with injustice on it. After a few weeks of watching WNF they keep mentioning TYM and Testyourmight.com. And here we are.

I Break Hearts, Not Combos
I wandered over from Gamefaqs. I was there looking for how to finish the mk9 challenge tower and met a ton of cool people. When the gamefaqs board died we migrated here.

I really wanna do a reunion koth with everyone someday!
@Rampage254 @RedRaptor10 @DragonPick @xWildx and I'm missing people, but yea I'd love for us to get together and play again :)

I was part of the group but I found out about competitive gaming and stuff before this but MK brought out the savage in me haha. I just wanna compete and beat people as much as possible

"Tell me, do you bleed?...You will."
I've been playing fighting games since forever. I was huge into Tekken, Smash, Soul Calibur, and DOA. I really started to like mk and go play the old ones after I used some characters in mk vs dc. Once I started playing mk more I got insanely hype for mk9. I started right off with ermac and cyrax, and wanted to know about setups and combos. I think I typed in cyrax guide and the first link was tym. The rest is history :D
OH and in south Florida we didn't have much of an FGC community except for some locals at an arcade playing injustice, luckily I live and in Orlando now and will be playing in the next CEO

>>R2 - BF4 = Unblockable.
It was right after MK9 came out, I saw the grand finals of powerup between Brady and PL and TYM was mentioned on commentary. That's how I found out it and got into the scene in general.

I ain't got time to bleed.
I never knew anything about fighters. Actually all of my competitive gaming stemmed from world of warcraft arena pvp (season 5-7 furious gladiator). And NHL online game (then local tourneys).

My first fighter was MK9 and it was a groomsman gift from @xQUANTUMx and we started playing together. I really enjoyed long combos and so I started looking up stuff on Youtube. I found Tylerlantern combos. I found i could do bigcombos and was really feeling myself. I joined a online clan called NPAB (No Punk Ass Bitches lol) And did well with them. So finally i decided i was awesome and would go to an offline tournament in toronto called Toryuken. I met Ghost who I roomed with along with Quantum. I got bodied almost right away went 0-2 at the tournament getting eliminated by @GGA Jeremiah (who beat me up with Kenshi and also won the Injustice tourney with Doomsday). Like most scrubs I figured it couldnt of been my fault.

After all of that injustice was out and it was time for me to try my hand at the next game. I immediately picked CW who I really loved playing (day 1 not so phenomenal CW player here lol) and decided I really wanted to learn how to play the game properly. I was suggested to check out TYM and MKU. And since then ive had the privilege of playing and meeting some really good people and now call quite a few of them friends.

Gunslinger since pre patch (sh/out to The Farmer)
I can't remember much about how I first got to TYM, but I remember how I got into the FGC. I first played MKII on my Game Boy Color when I was younger and I must have been about 8 when I beat the ladder using only specials I looked up in the manual lol. The next one I remember playing was Deception (which remains my favourite MK to this day even though I didn't play it at high level) as well as Shaolin Monks, Armageddon and of course MK9 (you're damn right I didn't play MK vs DC).

Getting into high level MK9 was actually by chance, I was browsing My Little Pony Rule 34 videos on YouTube and one of my recommended videos was Tom Brady's Sub Zero vs someone on Khan's Coliseum. I watched it and was interested in one of the combos Tom did, so I went into practice and copied it. One combo and suddenly I was hooked. I looked at more high level play, watching Pig's Mileena in MK9 EVO 2011 I think it was, and decided I liked the look of Mileena so I mained her from then on and got better :)
